Has anyone seen Vanity Fair?

I really like Reese Witherspoon. and it's gotten good reviews, but I don't know anybody who has seen it. Is it worth the $8.50, or is it a wait-until-DVD comes out type movie?

It's good, not great. I went with a group of seven women, and that was pretty much the consensus. It's a pretty movie (costumes, scenery) and Reese is great. It's also the kind of movie that's going to be better on the big screen I would think. Of course, I didn't pay $8.50 (my teen works at AMC Theatres and families get free admission!).

Here, Reese has gotten good reviews but the movie as a whole so-so ones. It apparently is a good bit different from the book, which I have not read.

We were all struck by the fact that there are multiple scenes that are almost exactly like scenes in Gone With the Wind -- with different characters and time era, of course.

I can't wait to see this. I love period movies. I've heard mixed reviews of Vanity Fair but I'll go just for the scenery and costumes.

I can't wait to see Vanity Fair! We were at Hampton Court last summer and they were filming there. We got to watch part of it so I'm interested to see it on film.

I like Reese too. I am thinking of going to see it by myself on Sunday.
