I know they just opened, but I'm curious if anyone has actually gone to SSR to see the GFV models? If you did or are going can you take pictures & share them here? Please post a link if there are pics or video somewhere on the internet. I would love to see them!

I'm really interested in what the studio looks like and if there is any drawer space in the room!

Also, I'm dying to see what the bathroom in the 1 bedroom looks like :)

Thanks!

On another popular Disney fan site, there are many pictures being posted and commentary about the models. Google and you will find! The pictures are amazing...

I'll go searching, thank you!!! :goodvibes

I have an appointment for Sunday at 5:30. I am looking forward to seeing them.

Luck you! If you get any pictures please post them! :thumbsup2

After viewing a few sets of posted pictures...

I have to give kudos to the designers! In terns of total execution quality, the VGF is the first DVC that looks like Walt supervised the design.:goodvibes

Yes, I have seen the GF Villa models, & I can tell you as a former custom builder, they are beautifully detailed, with a LOT of expense on those "little" things. Before we bought DVC 20 years ago, I would save up & we'd stay a week at the GF, as I love the romance & yes, the luxury, of the Victorian era. They have done a gorgeous job of making the villas very luxurious, yet welcoming. The colors are soft & relaxing (think upscale spa colors), & the finishes are stunning.

There are TWO showers in the Studios! Yowza! The Carrera marble has gorgeous ogee edges (at much more cost than without), the subway tiles are beveled, the mirrors & hardware are exquisite. We got a total of 10 people in the Master shower in the 1 bdrm! Not that I would ever HAVE 10 people in the shower! :lmao:

The pull down bed in the living rooms are like Aulani's, and unlike Aulani's, they have darling panels depicting Dumbo (think the song, "Baby Mine"), & the one in the 1 bdrm has Mary Poppins, though you'll have to look to find her! (Should I give away all the details? Naw, no way I can remember everything! Too much to see in a few minutes!) There is a WALK IN closet in the Master!!! NICE! I love the free standing, similar to a slipper-style tub, and personally I prefer the bubble jets to a regular jacuzzi. Pictures on the DVC website don't even come close to giving you an idea of how lovely these villas are.

The kitchen's fridge & DW are hidden behind cabinet doors that match the kitchen's. The range is a Bosch. Oh, that fridge is counter depth, like a Sub Zero. It's a GE Monogram. The sink is apron style (LOVE those!), the cabinet doors have seeded glass, & there's a hidden wine rack behind the cabinet door over the range hood. There really aren't any hidden Mickeys in the villas, though you will find Mickey. :goodvibes

No, there aren't a lot of drawers, but in the living room of the 1 bedroom, there are 2 small fabric ottomans that have hidden storage, 2 drawers discreetly placed in the wall separating the banquette from the living area. As I recall, there are 3 or 4 small drawers in the end tables too. I could have forgotten more storage.... I believe there was a really nice bureau in the Master.

The details are amazing throughout the villas. Whether you like the Victorian style or not, I can't imagine anyone not recognizing the quality & attention to detail. There IS a Check In desk at the Villas, though as mentioned earlier, it won't be open through the night. I have not seen the lobby area, but have seen renderings, & it has a beautiful fountain. Hope this helps you visualize! I heard the sales the first day were stellar.

That was a great description! Thank you! It sounds wonderful & I love Victorian theming so I know I will love these villas!

I'm thinking of only doing a small add on which means we will be in the studios mostly. The lack of drawer space worries me. I don't want to live out of a suitcase for a week!

I have seen the pictures from a few DVC members and they look amazing. Can't wait and hope to stay there!!

Did you find the pictures?

The bathtub is not a true clawfoot, but stands alone like one, shaped like one. It does have a pedestal of sorts (not sure how to describe it). If you like clawfooted tubs, you'll love it!

We toured the villa yesterday and one of the guides that was in the studio as we passed thru said that the bed in the studio would have drawers under the bed for storage.
Hope he is right!

And they are air jetted, meaning they won't get stinky with nasty standing water left in the system from the last users. BONUS!

Are there jets?

They're not jacuzzi tubs, but they have air jets; just little holes in the bottom that create a more delicate bubble effect. I'm not quite sure how else to describe them. (I talked with my guide this morning so I am trying to convey something he has seen.)

What is the other site that is posting pictures? The DVC site isn't really giving me what I'm looking for.

So the studio has a queen bed, queen sleep sofa, and pull down single bed like at Aulani? Sounds great!

Unfortunately the site that has them is not allowed to be posted on the disboards. You could try a google search.

Don't studios have Full sleeper sofas? (Not queen)

Has anyone verified if the studio pull down is smaller than a twin?
