Has anyone seen Ferris Buellers Day Off??

Years ago. I must be the only person who grew up during the 80's and doesn't like that movie.

The first time I saw it, I was insulted, because, as a parent, I felt it made parents look stupid & gullible. Now that I've seen it a few dozen times ;) I really like it!

The question should be worded " Has anyone not seen Ferris Bueller's day off?". The movie is a 80's classic and I would be willing to bet that practically everyone has seen it at least once.

I saw it back in 1986 in the theater with my high school friends Dustin and Chessy :). It's one of the few movies I can watch time and again.

I've seen it many times too. One of my very favorite parts is at the end of the movie during the credits where the principal gets a ride on the bus. LOVE the girl with the warm gummy bears in her pocket.

One of my all-time favorite movies, Dh's too. We can quote almost the whole thing verbatim.

"I asked for a car, I got a computer. How's that for being born under a bad sign?"

That was filmed at my highschool! :p John Hughes (the director) lived or maybe still lives in Glencoe and filmed all around the North Shore. For weeks, anytime we went anywhere we ran into big movie trucks blocking the street. The water tower that says "Save Ferris" is in Northbrook, where I grew up and the village left it like that for ages. The place where Ferris and his friend pick up his girlfriend because her grandmother "died" is actually the big theatre at Glenbrook North. The interior shots were filmed at one of the Maine highschools, I think Maine East. That is where they also filmed "The Breakfast Club". At the time, Maine East was closed due to smaller enrollment but I think it is open again now. That is alos not the real library in BC, it is a huge set built in the gym.

Back to Ferris, the house of his friend in Highland Park along the ravines, one of the very few places in the area that isn't flat!

That is a great movie and since we live here, it is fun to watch and see all the places we recognize.

"Wake up and smell the coffee Mrs. Bueller. It's a fool's paradise. He is leading you down the primrose path."

My sister has seen this movie a hundred times (as we all have) and saw it again a few years ago. It was only then that she realized that Ed Rooney uses bad cliches throughout the movie.

I just love this movie and probably could recite it word for word.

"How can I possibly expect to go to school on a day like today?"

"It's not that I condone fascism or any ism for that matter. Isms in my opinion are not good."

Come on what are your favorites????

"Bueller... Bueller... Bueller?"

A movie that contained some of the best movie lines in the 80's.

Another amazing fact of the film is that the actor that played Ferris' uptight sidekick is Alan Ruck... the same guy that played the slime-ball "Stuart" in "Spin City".

Charlie Sheen was in a scene in that movie for like 1 minute that I watched over and over because I thought he was sooo cute!!! :p

My parents always hoped I'd date serious, studious types in high school, but NO WAY! Ferris is exactly the kind of guy I went for. Don't care what I'm busy doing, if that movie comes on, I'm watching! Love way too many parts and lines to even attempt listing any! ::yes::

That was one of the first laserdiscs I purchased, way back when.

I had the XM on in the car the other day and I heard the art gallery music (Dream Academy) and it brought me right back...

Cameron, you saw me? I thought you were catatonic!

You're Abe Frohman? The sausage king of Chicago?

I LOVE THAT MOVIE! It's AWESOME!

I grew up with that movie as a cornerstone of my cinematic world! :)

I have a PASSION for movies from the 1980's...they just dont make comedies like that anymore....thats why they need to make my scripts reality!

OMG!! I love Ferris!!:D
My mom and I saw it in the theaters and when the movie was over she started calling me Ferris cause I had pulled the playing sick to get a day off school a few times!!;) :p Just wish I had been smart enough to actually go out and do all those cool things;)
My DH laughs everytime that movie comes on tv because he knows we will be watching it. ;) I have it on tape but only watch it when it comes on tv.
I love the Bueller, Bueller line I use that on my family when they are not answering me!!;) :p

OMG! That is my all time favorite movie! Ferris said one of my favorite quotes: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it."
