Hi everyone. I was booked at BC for 3 weeks in July. One week in a 2-bedroom and 2 weeks in a 1-bedroom. For some reason Wyndham cancelled the reservation for the 1st week.

Instead of switching resorts I changed my 3 weeks and now we will be in a 3-bedroom at Cypress Pointe Resort for the 3 weeks. I needed the extra space because another family wants to join us and only 4 people can stay in a 1-bedroom. I'm hoping I don't regret switching it, but it would be easier staying at one place since I don't drive. The good part is that we can walk to restaurants and grocery stores.

Has anyone stayed there recently? Did you like it? What are the pros and cons. I've read some mixed reviews.

Thanks for any info.

Hi everyone. When I posted the question about Cypress Pointe Resort I thought someone on this site would know about it. I hope I don't regret my choice to stay there for 3 weeks.

I've read some reviews on tripadvisor and there seems to be a real mix of good and bad. I really value the opinion of people on this site.

Thanks for any info.

We usually stay on the grande villas side but u can use the amenities at cypress pointe and grande villas. We love this resort. Not tons of things to do. But mini putt is free and they have poolside bingo games and activities. Rooms are huge. Pools are great and so are the hot tubs. Great location. Publix and ABC liquor out the back entrance. Every restaurant known to mankind. Great ice cream place in the parking lot of Publix. Called Twistee Treats.

Don't know whether it makes a lot of difference but that's a Winn Dixie in the shopping center over there. For a three-week visit, it might be worth taking the time to get a Winn Dixie customer rewards card (apply on line, they'll mail it to you) to take advantage of card holder savings, if you don't already have one.

This is a nice resort. The Cypress Pointe Resort was completely renovated and upgrades just a few years ago and is quite nice. Much smaller than the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort. Resort has a very good location with easy driving access to the Disney parks, SeaWorld or Universal and a lot of close-by restaurants in the Lake Buena Vista area.

MY BAD, you are right, was too tired to be writing a post yesterday, and yes it is a Winn Dixie, my kids love shopping there. I just ask them for a card when I walk in for the discounts, my husband and I both have one.

We stayed there in December! I, too, was concerned about how it would be after reading mixed reviews. We went with another family so there were 4 adults and 4 kids.

Overall, it turned out to be a perfect unit for our stay. The resort itself is small and has small pools but it was still very nice. We weren't at the condo much so it didn't matter. It is an easy drive to DW as it's pretty much across the street from the entrance to Downtown Disney.

I will add that I called 3 times in advance to request a room on the first floor and a remodeled unit. We arrived at 7:30am after randomly driving through the night (we had planned to stop halfway but didn't). Anyways, I inquired if we could check in and they said "sure". We got a room on the first floor but an older unit. I went back and asked if it was possible for the better unit and they kindly obliged. So I would most definitely ask for a first floor condo as there are no elevators and that you want a most recent upgraded unit!

Feel free to ask me any questions!

Thanks for the info. I was really starting to worry a little about my decision to stay there.

One of the convincing factors for me on staying there was being able to walk to a supermarket and restaurants since no one in my family drives. We have to rely on shuttles if they have them or cabs,

Does Cypress offer shuttles to any of the parks and how much do they charge? Does Cypress have more than one pool? I know we can use the two pools at Grand Villas which is across the street.

Are the patio areas of the ground floor rooms blocked off by trees? If you sit on the patio can you see things or just greenery? Is the patio screened on the ground floor rooms?

I would like to get a ground floor room. Do they give non-owners a hard time with requests? If we stop at a grocery store on the way from the airport, does Cypress have a place to store anything that we bought until we check in?

Thanks for any info.

I think Lynx has a stop within walking distance. I think it stops at DTD and TTC. Public bus is probably cheaper then a hotel shuttle

I am also staying in a 3BR unit at Cypress Pointe Resort in July (July 5th - July 12th). I did a timeshare exchange. I'm hoping for a renovated unit and plan to call the resort a couple of weeks in advance. I have also seen mixed reviews and I'm a bit nervous but I hope all works out well. I'll report back on this thread after I check in to let everyone know how it went. I'm not sure of your July dates but it you are checking in later in the month, look out for my post. :)

I checked into Cypress Pointe on Saturday and we love it. Excellent location for shopping and restaurants. My AC wasn't cooling the main part of the unit well, but the look off unit was fine. I called maintenance and they fixed it right away. I called in advance and requested a top floor renovated unit. I got a 2nd floor renovated and it's perfect.
