I am just checking to see if anyone has mailed something from their resort to their home. What is the procedure for doing this? Will the resort Fed EX or UPS something? I ask because we are flying this time and if we purchase some "extras" and don't have enough room, how can we ship them back home. thanks

We've done it two different ways. We ship down costumes, water/spray fan bottles etc. and ship them back at the end of our stay. We just go to the concierge and they have the boxes and shipping labels etc.

On our last day we buy all our souvieners for the folks back home at the Main St. Emporium stores. We just have them ship to our home address.

Hope it works for you.

We just did this a couple of weeks ago. Its no problem at all. We had sent stuff down (extra clothes, toiletries, sunscreen, stroller cover, etc.) so we had a box. All we did was put our home address on the box, tape it up (we forgot the tape but front desk helped us) and they shipped it home for us through UPS ground. They just charged our room. They also will ship Fedex as well. I sent home some souvenirs and some extra clothes we didn't need - helped to find more room for souvenirs they would want to show family when we got home. Good luck and have a great time!

Yep, just head to the front desk of your resort, they will help you out with whatever you need. We decided to ship things home when we were there and the airlines changed carry-on requirements. I think it ran us about $25, but was easier than dealing with our Post Office at home!

For those of you who sent stuff TO the resort. How did you get your stuff once you checked in? Was it waiting for you in your room or did you have to ask for it?

I would like to send a surprise box to a friend and don't know how this would work. Would she have to ask for an expected delivery or could I put her reservation number on the box and they deliver it to her?
Just curious how you got your stuff once you were there? Thanks!

It's been a few years back, but once when we stayed at ASMu DH needed some contacts, pronto.
He ordered them and had them delivered Fed Ex.
One day we came back from the parks and the bix was on our bed. :cool1:
I don't know thay they usually bring it to your room and leave the package. It may be a CM just happened to be going that way anyway.
The delivery worked out great for us.
I would think the front desk would at least leave a message for a package to be picked up.

I have never had a problem with shipping things home either. Another I do sometimes is bring and extra small suitcase, I usually pack it little and then put some of my purchases in it. I have learned over the years to pack light because I always buy clothes when I get down there.

We used UPS to ship a package home...the box was a brand new heavy cardboard box with a lot of packing to protect my precious popcorn buckets (sorry, I like to collect them). When it arrived at my house it looked like an elephant had danced on it!!! It was smashed, ripped, and the contents ( some caramel corn) was falling out of the holes!!! I opened the package and the buckets where broken into PIECES!!! I called the resort and asked them to file a claim but UPS would not approve it because I did not have my receipts...like anyone keeps a receipt for a bucket of popcorn!!! I was very upset and the person who handles claims at the resort helped me replace the buckets and told me to NEVER UPS anything that could break or melt...always use fed ex...she said they have never had any trouble with them and when there is a breakage problem they do not give them a hassle to file a claim. Just a piece of advice from experience....have fun!!

I think one Christmas we used the Contemporary's office
center to mail some things home. It is right past the lobby.

We FedEx a box home from the resort every trip. They have boxes at the front desk, and they'll tape it up and handle everything for you. It really is so much easier than trying to make everything fit in the suitcases for the flight home!

it's true about UPS - just seems they don't care about how boxes are handled, as compared to FEDEX - we shipped home a box from ASMO a few years ago UPS and it arrived damaged (squashed, opened, stained) - wasn't that way when we taped it up.... future boxes we send home FEDEX - never had another problem - they arrive intact

Great thread! :thumbsup2 I was wondering if you could ship food items as well? The reason I ask is that I'd love to get something from Goofy's Candy Company, Boulangerie Patisserie, Kringla Bakeri og Cafe, etc., and overnight it, if possible, via FedEx to friends and family back home.
