Has anyone made a Diaper Cake???

I didn't make them but I had them made for me for my baby shower. I think my sister used size 4. They were adorable! But my son arrived at 20 months so that may be why she use that size.

I do know that she also made one for her sister in law and used size 3 even though her baby arrived at birth.

Thank you.....you scared me for a moment when I read your son arrived at 20 mos! Then I realized you must have adopted him :goodvibes.

I've never made one, but I'd use size 2 or 3.. they seem to fly through sz. 1's, and she'll probably have more than enough of those anyway.

Use a larger size - it makes the cake bigger and that way the mom can enjoy looking at the cake for a little while before having to tear it up. Also, don't forget to tell her what size diapers they are! I usually will tape a piece of paper on the bottom with the size as a reminder - new mommies forget stuff easily.

Make each layer a different size. The top layer can be a newborn layer, since it's the smallest then you could use size 1's and 2's.

I always use size 2 because the majority of babies wear that size longest, so there is a bigger need.

Oh, and don't forget, the smaller the size, the more diapers you get for your money.

I just made one for my new grandbaby and used all size ones. I bought a case for $18 at Target. They do go through the sizes fast, but they also go through so many at that stage that ones are fine! It made a nice big cake. I had maybe 10-12 diapers left from the case.

I always use size 1 pampers swaddlers b/c they are all white and the size works best for me

I do 3 or 4 tiers... 3 if it is a table centerpiece, 4 if its a gift

how do i post a pic? i will show you

also if you you tube diaper cakes, you will see instructions

I received one a couple of months ago for my newborn. They used the size 1-2 Huggies to build it. All those diapers are gone now!

Edit: It was 2 tiers

My mom made a diaper cake for me, but she used cloth diapers (the single ply ones and the ones with extra padding in the middle). It was 2 tiers tall and set on a cake round. They put ribbon around pacifiers, bottles, rattles, etc., and used diaper pins to fasten them to the cake. Now, I used disposable diapers for my babies, but the cloth diapers were GREAT for burp rags and lining the swing or stroller. Now they're great dust rags :thumbsup2.

Sometimes NB have fewer in the package than the 1's.

LOL, I like the diaper cake idea, I have a ton of packs of NB that DS couldn't use because he was born into size 1s!:lmao:

Here is the one I made for my SIL. I got all the "treats" free at CVS with coupons.

Oh, I totally forget about newborn because all of the babies I have known are born at size 1. Lol! Even friend's most recent born at 6p4o only wore NB for about 3 days, and they are sized to 8 pounds.

These are the mini cakes I made in the spring for 2 women from church who were best friends and having their boys a month apart... (I didn't know either of them before the shower)
