know anything about Lladro? I have one and it says on the bottom NAO Daisa. There are figurines that are made in Spain. I cant find anything I check both Lladro's web site and then I check NAO website and there catolog on has last years pieces in it my piece is from 1981

Lladros are made in Valencia, Spain.

The same company makes Nao - the difference is that Lladros are made by masters of the art, and usually have a lot of detail, for example hands where the fingers are separated, flowers that have separate petals, etc. Nao figurines are made by artists who haven't achieved the master status, and might have hands where the fingers are together, or just one separated, etc. They don't have as much detailing as the Lladro figures.

We have both Nao and Lladro, and each are precious to me because they all have "history" with us.

Also, Lladros are considerably less when you get them in Spain ... you just gotta get that round-trip ticket.

My cousin who lives in the UK started me off a few years ago with a few pieces of both Nao and Lladro. They are so beautiful.

They go to Teneriffe every year and they are so much cheaper there. And yes as Mary Jo said Lladro has much more detail on it than the Nao but both are so gorgeous.I'm a cat collector and my cousin has given me some really nice kitty pieces for birthday's anniversaries etc. I'm so lucky! Every piece has memories for us too, and are so special to us.
