attended a "Scrappers Dream Vacation" by Dream Events, Inc. ? They have 2 coming up in my area in January/February & I it seems like it would be a lot of fun. Does anyone have any info on if this would be worth my time/money? I've never been to a crop before & would really like to get together with people that I could share my craziness for this obsession with. Thanks for all your help.

I have been to a couple of weekend crops. Could you give some more information on this like the price, what's included, etc. and then maybe I could give you a better opinion.

Do they have a website for this crop weekend?

Laura -- they do have a website, it's www.dreameventsinc.com & although the prices range for the weekend & depending how many people are in your "group", they seem to go from $400 (with 3 nights accommodations, meals, crop, etc.) to $70 for a half day crop on Sunday. The more that I look at the website, the more excited I get that this could be something that I could do (since it's only about 10 - 15 minutes from my house).

Looks good to me but, did you see that the Saturday seats are already sold out. So you could only crop on Friday and Sunday. I would say see if you can find another one close by and go with a friend if you can. I'd go but it's bit to far.

They have had two in our area this year , and I hear they are pretty good. I was lucky enough to find a smaller group that has some really great ladies running it , and the prices were a lot better ( including the meals ). Also these ladies give you an entire banquet table to yourself ! My friend and I are going to our first one next month. I started on my kits , and I'm pre-planning my pages in advance. Let us know how it goes if you decide to attend.

Nancy and Dale are awesome and they really put together a great
event. I have been to two and LOVE them. If you have a chance to go you should.

I went with a friend last year to Myrtle Beach, and we are registering today for November in the same location. If you have never been to a crop, you are starting out with the granddaddy of them all. It was really lots of fun. The great part of it for us was the 24 hour a day cropping and never having to move our stuff. We could just drop in and out whenever we wanted to. But if you're only a short distance away, you will probably just do the daily thing, and I think that you have to remove your stuff when you leave if you aren't signed up for the whole thing.

But it was a real blast - makes you realize that scrapping is a subculture all its own. People came in groups with banners, big signs with the name of their group. They have a pajama party one night. And the amount of die cuts that you can make yourself is amazing. Lots of alphabets and also other designs (especially borders) that were really neat. My big advice if you decide to go to an overnight one (staying in the hotel) is to go the night before. We had a 3 hour drive and by the time we got there, checked in and got our stuff settled at the table, it was 1:00 and we had lost half a day. I also think the classes are pretty expensive for what you get. We can do much better at our local scrapbook store.

Hope you get to go. I would (and will) do it again in a minute.
