Has anyone here adopted?

After having 5 of my own kids most people might look at me like I am out of my mind... (well I AM, but thats beside the point) I would like to adopt one little girl, older than 2 years from overseas.

Many reasons behind it.. both DH and I were adopted so we know what it feels like. I REALLY do not want to pregnant again nor do I want to go through the newborn sleepless nights! and if I were to add another to our clan, I would want a little girl and having another baby does not guarantee which sex I would get. When we go to WDW I always look longingly at all the cute princess costumes and realize my girls are WAY to old for them (14 & 16) and when they were little I never had any money to buy them fun stuff like that. Now we are finacially secure and as my oldest ones grow older and leave I think it would be great to have a little girl added to the last 2 left (boys 8 & 2). I probably wouldn't do this for about 2 years when oldest DD heads off to college and her room opens up but I think about it lot now and look at the adoption sites in Russia and dream of bringing home a little girl to a better life. (Don't get me wrong..I LOVE my boys... while pregnant with my 8 year old I was really hoping for a boy since the 2 before were girls and I was ready for some baseball, overalls and trucks)

Has anyone done this? or adopted an older child from here in the states?

I asked about this last week and received several replies...I wish the search function was working so I could give you the link to the thread. Maybe someone will be able to post the link. There are a lot of individuals who have adopted and can give you a lot of advice.
