From reading some old trip reports on us & ioa i have read that in july there is large tour groups that take over the rpr and other hotels and also take over the fotl. is this true and does this take place every july. thanks

RPR more so than the other two host conventions all year long. We happened to be there once during a sold out situation and while the hotel was full the express at the parks was just fine. They go to meetings during that day and some just arent park goers! Never had a problem with space at the pool either so dont worry.

last year when we where there in July, there was a teachers convention on, i would not say they took over the place probably the opposite, as they got breakfast at 7:30 then on to there convention till late in the afternoon, Like Fan2CSkr says they are away most of the day and most stayed around the pool when their convention was over.
This being our first time. i dont know if it affected FOTL, but the longest we waited was about 15mins for Poseidons Fury , and this was because when we went into it a show had just started, we where first in line in the express pass, most other rides where anything from 5 to 10 mins at the most, so i do not think it made any difference

yep....that was a long EP line too! BUT, we managed to be in the front for each "scene", so, that was pretty cool. and I agree, we only saw a small group of teachers one afternoon getting off the elevator on the bottom level...other than seeing them, i had no idea there was a convention.....so, I'll second rpbert1's above comment all the way

hi bubba'smom i see u visited in july before and going back, i guess the weather and crowds aren't that bad, how is it to get a place to eat or do u need ps for most places. thanks.
