Has anyone heard from the DTD Holiday Inn yet?

I know that they are currently taking reservations for guests arriving after 01/15/2010 but when I made my ressie back in July it was for guests arriving after 11/15/09. Considering we are going to be there 12/4-12/5 that was going to work out great for us. I also know that their opening has been pushed back but other than the email that I got last week (after I contacted them) I have heard nothing from HI regarding them not being open on the dates that we will be there. They haven't contacted the other family that we are traveling with either so I'm wondering if anyone that has a current reservation with HI DTD (the one that is being renovated) between 11/15/09 and 01/15/2010 has heard from the company.

I'm currently entering the 20th minute of being on hold with them and have been transferred to a third person.

I too contacted them last week and I was told they were relocating November guests at this time. They were waiting until this week to see about December guests. my reservations are for Dec. 11-14 and they said they did not know at this point. They said(in a reply email) that they are trying to get rooms at the same rate "next door". I don't know what hotel that is, but I would think they could notify us!!!!!

I have been less than pleased with the handling of this situation.

By the looks of that place, they will be LUCKY if they get the doors open within the next 6 months. It looks no where near being ready.
There are other hotel options near Downtown Disney. As a matter of fact, there is a fairly new Holiday Inn right around the corner on Palm Parkway.

I hope it all works out for all of y'all with future reservations.

I had a reservation for Nov. 20th. I received an email last week offering accomodations at the Hilton right next door. When I didn't respond to the email, I received a call from a customer service representative. We pushed our trip up to the end of this month so I didn't need the room anyway.

I'm with the poster above-- it sure doesnt look like it could possibly be open any time soon! I would imagine it will be MANY months before anyone could really stay there.

I'd really like to stay at this hotel for our trip at the end of April. I noticed on the website today that they changed the date that they are accepting reservations to February 18/10. Has anyone been by there recently? Is it even looking close?

I get a really good rate at Holiday Inns, so this hotel is my first choice but I don't want to book it and have to find other arrangements at the last minute.

Any advice from somone who's been there and seen it would be much appreciated!

I commented to my DH when we went past there 2 weeks ago that there is no way this will be ready this year.

I suggest avoiding the frustration with this hotel. The last that I'd heard was that the condition of the hotel wasn't any different than what I'd seen when we were down in July, and it was the same in July as it had been in March when I'd previously last seen it.

I spoke to someone at the hotel who told me they were in the process of moving funiture in. This sounded to me like things were almost complete. We are scheduled to arrive on 1/15 for the 3v3 soccer tournament. I am giving them until 11/15 to get back to me about their opening. I don't want to be stuck somewhere awful...I have to book through the 3v3 travel agent and will end up with leftovers.

We're scheduled to check in there on Feb 15th. I'd be interested to know what accomodations are being provided with those with reservations before the new opening dates. If it's the Hilton I'd stay there for the rate I have at the HI even if I have to pay a resort fee. Edited to add: It doesn't look like I'll get the Hilton, it's sold out for that week in Feb! Wow already!

I'd suggest not waiting until you hear from them. Give them a call and see if they can take care of your lodging now.

Do you think they'd offer to put me up somewhere else now for the same price? I have a backup ressie somewhere else so I'm figuring on riding this out until I get an offer for them to honor my ressie and put me up somewhere else. Since my rate is $72 I'm thinking I could do pretty well if they decide to put me up somewhere else.

We drove by a few times between 11/11 and 11/15 and saw lots of activity. New glass being installed on many of the rooms and lots of clouds of construction dust. Having stayed there when a Marriott, I'm hopeful it will reopen early next year. It's still a great location.

They've done that with others who have had reservations that they couldn't honor. I'm thinking that the sooner that you contact them for a holiday week/vacation week in the northeast, the better that you'd do for lodging. One way to find out for sure... give them a call.

So now they are taking reservations for check ins as early as Feb 7th. Has anyone heard anything else about the opening? Are they doing a soft opening beforehand or something? A little nervous about checking in on Feb 15th
