I have heard about the sun rise tour from the AK for people staying at the hotel, but has anyone heard about a sun set dinner at the AKP. Recently on our local radio station they have been mentioning it.

They are doing both sunrise and sunset.They are for concierge guests only.The sunset safari is 150.00PP.

And we can't wait!

The Sunset Safari will be a private safari for 8 AKL concierge guests. No one under 16yo.
And after the safari, there is a wonderful meal with wine pairings at Jiko's.

I'll be posting about this when we return!

We've done the Sunrise Safari twice, and it was a much larger group.
In fact, it is the safari at AK, only at 7am, when the animals are being released.
And afterwards, you're taking to the Tusker House in the "Schoolroom", for a fabulous breakfast, then given a fast pass for the safari to ride as a regular park guest.
Very nice also!

Every now and then, there is a problem with the language filter on the DIS.

Last week (or the week before), the word cruise was bleeped out on the cruise line forum.

They actually have 2. One is for the concierge guests and there is another one that is a grand gathering event here is the info on that one:

We were thinking of doing that but its a smidge pricey considering 4 of our 6 family members are "adults" and one child--our youngest is only 21 months.

Janet2k went on the safari for 8, in a special van.
Safari can be rented for $1200. ($150 each x8)

The one you are referring to uses the AK Kilamanjaro safari vehicles, like the ones used in the park and the Sunrise Safari.

Different vehicles, number of participants, meals, and itineraries is what I've been explained by the AKL concierge staff as the
differing factor.
