When I talked to the concierge lady at the poly over the phone she said they were going to be redoing all the rooms at the poly and starting with the concierge rooms. Has anyone heard this to? I am wondering if it is true and I wonder when they are going to start.

They are starting with the suites first, Tonga building. I don't think they will move to another building until finished with them.

I thought they just did a major renovation of all the older buildings? Wasn't the Hawaii building closed for awhile? Will they be boarding up buildings during this new reno? I am going back in Sept. and would hate to have all kinds of construction going on. I'll bet Tikiman has the answers to this.

It isn't major reconstruction. They are just giving the rooms a new look. Different colors, different furniture, different patio doors and such. Supposed to be lighter but I thought they looked darker.

Terry Have they already started this? I am going the middle of July and was wondering if they would be done by then.

Thanks

I have no idea. Tikiman said that there were test rooms but I don't know if they have started yet.

Thanks for the information. Are there pictures anywhere of the new look?
I thought Tikiman has some pics. I really didn't see a difference that much except they looked a little darker. I think they are getting rid of the bamboo canopy which I loved!

the allears.com website has the listing of all redos at resorts and ride/attraction closings and it says that Rapa Nui is the one getting it now. Hope that helps.
Poly 4 weeks and2 days!! :cool1:

No photos; as they do not want anyone to see the new design until they are completely finished. When Tikiman was there he saw the mock room of what they want it to look like, but after his visit I know some revisions were made so while it will be close to what he saw it won't be exact. Another reason they don't want photos out on the Net until finished.

I do think someone posted a photo from the outside of the drapes in the mockup room. That might have been Tikiman.

The work will be all interior. New carpet, new furniture, new bedding, new drapes, new TV, refrigerators installed and I have heard microwaves too.

The work on Tonga building has started. Early May is the date they hope to finish the Tonga building. No word on which building will be next.

The look will be Polynesian Plantation Colonial.

Thanks for letting me know. I am staying in the Hawaii building so I hope they get that done before July. I can't wait to see what they look like when they get done!!! :jumping4:

Do you have the exact link where this is located? I looked and I can't find it on allears.com.
