Has anyone have experience with the Plug n Play games for the TV?

I just bought a couple of the Plug n Play games that you plug into your TV.... we don't have any Play Station, etc.... (hard to believe - my kids are 15 & 17!) Anyway, Ms. Pacman brought back memories and I thought it looked like fun....

Any thoughts? :earsgirl:

We all love them -- granted, my oldest is 5, so to him, that's high-tech, so your 15 and 17 year old might laugh at you, but hey, that's more time for you to enjoy them. :teeth:

They are good but not nearly as good as PS2 or Xbox but they are great for travel. We hook them up in the car, hotel, grandmas- w/o having to take our more expensive PS2. When at home the kids don't play it all that much. But they are cheap so I think they are worth it.

We have the Spiderman one.
DS7 is a Spiderman nut but he does not like this game. I don't know why.

I hope I don't get laughed at.... :guilty:

I just bought the Spongebob one to stick in a care package for my daughter who is 20 and in college!

I assume you know your DD well enough to know that she'd think it's a cool gift (in other words, I assume she's a huge Spongebob fan :) :) )

If they're kids who are used to high-tech video games (a la PS2/XBox/etc), then something like a Plug and Play game typically will be a let down for them. DW and I love the Pac Man one we got DS, but much of that is a nostalgia thing. DS loves it because, for the most part, it's a cool video game, since he hasn't had much exposure to most video game systems yet. :)

I thought I saw a pink Disney princess plug and play one too.

I may get one for my 3 year old and one for the pink Disney princess for mt 7 year old girl.

Like the other post said, they're so cheap.

We got the Disney one from last year(Stitch, Donald, Simba and Aladdin games)for our 5 yr DS. All the other PC games are the educational ones. It is good to start out with if you don't want your children to play alot of video games.

We have the Ms Pac Man one and enjoyed it for about a week. I don't even know where it is now. The game we play over and over is Mario golf - and we don't even like golf.
DD is getting the Dance Dance Mario game for Christmas, can't wait to try it! Figure it will be a little extra exercise for me LOL!

Tell me about the Dance Dance Mario game! Is it appropriate for a 5-year-old?? It sounds like it could be great exercise for ME! I bought a Disney Plug N Play game for my youngest son, but my oldest son is asking Santa for a Chicken Little video game. We don't have a Playstation, etc., so I want to just get another Plug N Play. I can't find a Chicken Little one on-line, so I need something different for him.

Any other good Plug N' Plays for a 5-year-old who has NO video game experience?? (I might splurge and get him a Chicken Little computer game if I can find one.)

We bought the Star Wars lightsaber battle one and the snowboard one for our kids (10 and 8) for Christmas this year. We do not have any other type gaming system so this is something that our kids will think is great since they don't have anything to compare it to. DH and I have played both games (hey, we had to test them out to make sure they would work ;-) We really like them. I think they will be fun to play as a family. They get you up off the sofa, as well.

Depends on why you want these vs. full game systems.

All game systems are really plug and play now assuming the TV is newer and has video and audio connections. Most of the games contained in these single game systems are also available (at a low cost) for the larger systems like PS2.

If it's in your budget I would say the teens would rather have the PS2. If not, then it's a real quess if they would like the simple games that the single game machines contain. There's a good chance they wouldn't get into them since you can get better games for a phone.

The joy sticks on a couple we had didn't seem to hold up to the rough play (5-8 yr old boys). I think our Spongebob and Galaga stopped working. They did have fun with them...DH likes the Galaga.

You mean all 20 year olds wouldn't like a Spongebob el cheapo game???
:confused3

;) Yeah - actually, she's a HUGE Spongebob fan. As well as Disney Princesses.........

I was eyeing up the Ms. Pac Man game - those were the only two I found at the store.

I bought Ms Pacman as a joke for my DW last Christmas. Well, she got totally addicted to it just as she was 20+ years ago. She plays it everyday after work as a stress reliever now.

We got 3 for the Holiday last year. Nice cheap option but low tech compared to the gamesboys I bet. My girls are too young for gameboys and Didn't know about leapsters kind of stuff. I like that the plug ins have 5 different games for each one. The girls can plug in themselves too.
