Hi Everyone,

I am looking to get info from anyone who has tried Jenny Craig in the past. You know pros, cons, likes, dislikes, etc. I have a friend who is raving about it, but after seeing the price tag that comes with it, I want to be sure before I dole out the cash.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

I haven't tried it personally, but my Mom is on Jenny Craig. She has lost about 40-45 lbs since September and went from a size 14 to a size 8. I know she really likes how she meets with representative once a week, it keeps her accountable for the week. Another thing she likes is that they don't promote Jenny Craig as something you have to be a part of every day for the rest of your life. Once the weight is lost and you learn portion control and what foods are healthy, you are encouraged to stop eating their food and take what you've learned in the "real world". Good luck with your decision!

I have seen results from people who have used the system to get on the right track. It worked for them. The key along the way is to learn the transition to making healthy eating choices on your own and making those healthy lifestyle choices to keep you where you need to be. If you realize it is a lifestyle you are looking for, you will do it!

I actually did it quite a few years ago--probably about 12 or so. I even worked for them as a receptionist for a while. It has been so long ago that I don't know how much has changed. The biggest thing is how you think you will do with their foods.

I am a picky eater so I didn't like a lot of the foods they had. They were great at adapting the menus to the foods that I would eat, but it got boring. There was just not much that I liked0 since many of their foods were spiced with peppers and onions, my 2 most hated things! At the time it was only DH and I so eating their foods exclusively wasn't as big a deal as it would be now with 2 kids. I wouldn't like preparing meals for them and eating their prepared meals for myself now.

It was nice to have time with a personal counselor to talk about challenges and discuss things privately and to have that connection each week. There were some amazing success stories in the facility I was in.

Thanks everyone....

The idea of only eating their food kind of scares me, but it may be just the kick in the pants that I need to get started on the path to a smaller me.

Thanks again for all of the great input. I think I will give it a shot and see what happens.

Wish me luck!!!
