Mine just isn't functioning well and it's somewhat painfull so it's coming out. Sounds like pretty basic outpatient surgery. Anyone have any details they would like to share? I also have a hiatal hernia(and reflux) but I'm not messing with that right now(Dr agrees it's controlled with meds currently). The surgeon said we will see how much improvement I have after the getting the gallbladder out. Has anyone had the nissen fundo wrap? Hopefully I won't need that. :scared:

I had mine out laproscopically about 2.5 years ago. I did stay overnight at the hospital, but that was only because they didn't get around to doing my surgery until 7 or 8 pm!

Very basic outpatient type surgery. I was so happy to have it out! The two attacks I had, I thought I was seriously having a heart attack and was going to die. I was petrified of having another attack. All has been fine since surgery. There are some, ummm, digestive issues for a few months. But after your body adjusts to not having the gall bladder, you should be perfectly fine.

I was surprised at how sore I was after surgery since there were only 4 little holes that were healing. But then again, they did remove a part of your insides, right?!

Good luck - you'll do fine!

I had mine out after I had DS. Compared to the c-section it was a walk in the park! I could have gone home that night but with a month old baby I wanted a nights sleep first.
Good luck!

I had mine out about 5 1/2 years ago. I spent the night as well but it was because it was done as an emergency in 6pm after a very severe attack!
I was pretty sore for a while but the pillow against the abdomen trick works well.
I have to agree with Kristi as far as the "digestive" issues are concerned....even now I still do. You will learn what you can eat and how far you can be away from a bathroom for a short time after eatting. :rotfl2:

Good luck with the surgery!! :flower2: :flower2:

Well what can I say to that....

Good to hear everyone did well with the surgery. I had a c/s with DS but that was eight years ago. I also had a ankle sugery and that was a royal pain...crutches for 5 weeks.
