since they reopened? I have read the review for lunch, was wondering if the dinner portions are any larger than those pictured from the reviewer's lunch. We will be a party of five, with two teens and a tween. All love the Honey sesame chicken, I'm just concerned that the portions will no longer satisfy the girls. TIA!

I've heard the portions are small but you can order some appetizers or soup to start. If you're not a fan of that, go get a big pastry in the park after dinner. We're usually too stuffed from to dinner to do that but plan to on our nine dragons night. :thumbsup2

We went the first night they reopened, on Sept 25th. We don't eat very much, but even then, the portions were very tiny.

We ordered the pickled cucumber salad, which maybe had a total of a dozen thin slices of cucumber; I had the vegetarian stir fry, and DH had the noodles sampler. My food was tasty enough, but we were pretty hungry by the time we got home a couple hours later, since the portions were so small. The people next to us ordered the honey chicken, which maybe had 8 small pieces of chicken.

We applaud smaller portions in restaurants, but these were seriously small, especially with the prices. The pictures on the Allears review are the portions you get at dinner, as well.

That's what I was afraid of. We have dined there religiously throughout the years, from when our girls were small. It used to be you received a platter of entrée per order and a bowl of steamed rice. On our last visit your plate was a scoop of entrée and a scoop of rice. Now I see that they have also taken your appetizer from the "family plan" or whatever they call it now, it used to be soup, appetizers for each person that ordered it, your entrée and the ice cream dessert. Younger DD asked that I drop San Angel this trip so we could have Nine Dragons again, but I know for a fact that 8 pieces of honey sesame chicken will not fill even her small stomach!

We have eaten at the Nine Dragons the last two years and the portions were always huge. I am really disappointed to see the portion size since they reopenend. I think I can cross this restaurant off my list.

I completely agree! Nine Dragons was always one of our favorite WDW restaurants in the past not only because of the good food and service, but the quantity/price ratio. Now they've raised the price and cut portion sizes in half... we probably won't return. :sad2:

Does anyone here remember when you received a platter of entree and a large family size bowl of rice at dinner? After being used to that it was hard enough accepting the scoop of entree and scoop of rice we each received in January. Now that portion seems generous!
