Has anyone had a negative experience staying at the Wilderness Lodge?

I too, have the extensive collection of this music! Just about each and every single volume *(and then some!). ::yes:: Isn't it the BEST?! I love my Spectromagic music, I can grab my baton and march around the house...leading the parade to BEAT THE BAND!! :jumping1: :rotfl: :cool1:

Does the boat from WL go directly to the MK, or does it let you off at TTC and you take the monorail from there to MK?

There are two launches from WL - one can go to MK directly or to FW then to MK (Green Flag)

The other can go to CR or FW and then CR (Blue Flag)

thanks

I just returned from my stay at the WL on Feb. 6th and let me say first hand that the MK boat goes to Fort Wilderness and picks up FIRST and then picks up at WL, then the more than full morning boat goes to MK. Maybe this has not been the way it use to be, but this is how it was the ENTIRE week I was there. The AM boats were packed and often could NOT accommodate everyone at WL. On the way back, the boat took the same route.

Depending on the time of year, time of day, park and resort capacity, the boats will change routes several times. We have been there with several different patterns. Bottom line is, you are on vacation! Don't punch a time clock...at least not too much. :)

We have stayed at both and I would recommend the Wilderness Lodge. The rooms are a little smaller, but not enough to worry over. The Whispering Canyons is a GREAT restaurant, and we really enjoyed the boat ride to and from the MK. The CR is a great resort too, and the convenience of being able to walk in and out of the MK is awesome.

2 boat routes from WL.

Larger boat: WL/FW/MK (any order)

Smaller boat: WL/FW/CR (any order)

To get to the TTC, take the direct bus. You can catch the Ferry or Monorail.

Vhoffman - I've stayed twice at the Villas and really liked the whole atmosphere at the Wildnerness Lodge (much to my surprise since when I go to Florida, I am more of a beach person) It was extremely relaxing there.

I only had one potential problem that was entirely of my own doing. We were at the Poly first and then we checked into VWL. On the morning of the switch, I enrolled my son in the Pirate's Cruise (sets sail from the Grand Floridian) I decided to drop him off at the cruise, and had approx 1.5 hours until I had to pick him up. My plan was to use that time to check in at the Wilderness Lodge. Instead of returning to the Poly to pick up my car, I hopped the Monorail to the MK and took the boat to Wilderness Lodge. This is where things got tricky. I just missed the boat at the MK and had to wait about 20 minutes for another one to arrive. (this was about 10am or so, off-season) It is a leisurely ride to Fort Wilderness first (I think) and then Wilderness Lodge. I checked in without much of a delay but decided not to look at my room until I returned as I was running short on time. I was also afraid that if I missed the boat to either the Contemporary or MK, that I would have to wait too long for the next one. (and possibly waiting a few minutes for the monorail as well) I didn't want DS crying on the dock because I was a bad mommy  ............so, I took a Taxi back to the Grand Floridian.

Again, this was my fault for not allowing any extra time. All was well that ended well since I had 15 minutes to spare (and was armed with breakfast nibblers from the Roaring Forks!) I really don't know what I was thinking. (guess I wasn't ;) )

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :D

DisneyDmbNut, didn't see myself in your pictures. We were also neighbors too! We were in 4071--a great view of the pool and lagoon, (haven't gotten my pictures yet). We had a woodland room reserved and received a free upgrade to a courtyard view. It was a great room. Overlooking the lobby too. No real noises, except sometimes you heard the music, which was OK, and the newspaper was always gently placed at our door, no thump.
