Has ANYONE had a good experience at Chef Mickey's?

What I remember the most about CM's is the great service and the smiles on my kids faces :goodvibes. We didn't go during our trip this year but I definitely missed it and plan on going back next year. We have never stayed at the Contemporary so for us half the fun of going to CM's is spending some time walking around the resort and riding the monorail loop. I say go for it! :thumbsup2

My family ate there in 2008. My kids loved it. I thought it was okay. If you were judging on food alone, it's overpriced but when you factor in the characters I think it's worth it. I don't remember what I ate, but I know I didn't hate it or anything.

A little off topic, but what is the deal with the napkin spinning? I know they do it but why? It seems fun and all but it's probably the germaphobe in me that is thinking about food particles flying off of them.

But that said,we are having a late breakfast on the first day of our trip there after a very early morning flight. It seems to me the perfect way to kick off our vacation and we hope to capture some great photos and a decent breakfast. It's hard to go wrong with a Mickey waffle.

We eat here at least once every trip, mostly for dinner. We have had great experiences there!

We recently went to Chef Mickey for dinner and had a great time. We loved the food and the character interaction, our server was great. The wait to check in was very long so we expected to wait to be seated but we did not wait more then 5 minutes. The only mess I saw was where someone dropped some stuff off the dessert bar that had not been cleaned up yet. There were tons of CMs working so I don't think it sat there long.

We have been there 3 times everytime was great. The food was good, the place was clean and the characters were great, they hung out and some of them visited twice.

We actually just had breakfast there last Friday. My 3yo loved it. The food was not bad at all. There was a wide variety of choices too. Enough so that my super picky 3yo was happy! :)
We saw all of the characters once, and they didn't seem rushed. The restaurant was clean while we were there too. It was fun!

not the best breakfast buffet, but was good enough. Place was clean, food was hot & cold as need be, service was good. It's hectic in there, even at 7:30 a.m., but it is a fun character experience for kids...can't beat it if you want Mickey & Pals. And it is very convenient for anyone staying at the Contemporary. Go for it!

We're trying it for the first time this trip.

I've read the neagative reviews but can't accept it is always filthy, keeps making people sick. I'm sure you have an equivalent of our environmental health dept in the US that would intervene if that was the case.

We'll try it and if we hate it then well it's just one of our 14 free DDP TS credits wasted.

We had a CM dinner last trip(Feb 2010). Characters--great, service--very good, food--meh. If you aren't "going for the food", you'll be ok.:earsboy:

We had a mixed experience last November--horrid service, wonderful chef who really went out of his way to make special food for my GF/CF son, good food on the buffet for the rest of us.

We've oly done Breakfast, but we really enjoyed it. It's one of the only breakfasts that Mickey is always at

DH and I have been to CM several times, including after our wedding, and again last summer. We've always had a good time and we're planning on going back for dinner next month when we're there.

We had breakfast there Spring of '09. Service was great, food was meh but not so meh as to pass into bad, just unexciting. The character interaction though was fantastic. Even my grouchy daughter cracked a few grins. And I was a bad mom and let the middle girl eat a giant bowl of gummy bears along with her eggs and waffles. It made her day, "WOW, candy for breakfast!, Disney World really is the happiest place on earth!!".

It's the atmosphere at CM that makes it so worth it. But,the food is not bad. We have only been there for breakfast, but we did enjoy the food. It is not the best breakfat around. I think CP is better, but I would not hesitate torecommend it. We have been there 3 times. It's a lot of fun!!

CM is our traditional breakfast on the day we leave, and our kids love it. Plenty of variety for everyone (I'm not a breakfast person, but I'll still end up eating more there than I'll eat for breakfast in a normal week!).

Never noticed any cleanliness issues, although we tend to have very early (7:30 or so) ressies so maybe problems come up as diners move in and out? We did notice quite a few birds flying around the restaurant last time (they flew in through the openings for the monorail - just small sparrow-type birds, not big ones), which could put some people off.
