Hi everyone,

We're taking our first family trip to Disney this October and I'm trying to make all of my dinner reservations. Both my husband and I have been to Disney a ton so I feel pretty good about most of our restaurant choices but I'm getting concerned with Chef Mickey's. When our kids wake up they want to eat right away, so since we're staying at the BLT I figured Chef Mickey's would be a great choice. We're going to eat at the Crystal Palace one day and then probably eat room service another day. We don't care about the noise because our kids will fit right in but filth I do care about. Our kids aren't too picky about breakfast, they are big into waffles and pancakes, so I would think Chef Mickey's couldn't screw that up. If my husband and I don't like the food then no biggie, we're there for the kids and we'll just snack on something later. I just want to make sure that your kiddos liked the food.

We've been there several times for breakfast and dinner. Never saw any filth and never had a bad experience. My dd loved the mickey waffles and the biscuits and gravy. We go every year and have never been disappointed. My coworker went to Disney in May and loved CM so much they ate there twice during their trip. So 2 of us have had great experiences.

We go every trip. It has become one of our favorite traditions. Last August we celebrated our youngest son's 2nd birthday at Chef Mickey's. Our boys love seeing the characters, the food is fine (not the best we've ever head, not the worst either). I'm sure you'll find something you like to eat. The hardest part is getting everyone's plate made and making sure not to miss any characters.

Make sure you try the glazed donuts. I *think* they are from Krispy Kreme. They are yumalicious!

We loved CM last year and we are going again this year. The food isn't great, but it's fine. The characters are wonderful and we had a blast!

I always go to CM at least 1x every trip. I have never had a bad experience, except the wait times. I don't think I have ever waited longer past a ressie time then there. I have done either breakfast or dinner and both have been great, descent food, standard Disney buffet, but the characters are great and it is clean.
Also... I take the best photos there for the photo packages they sell. I don't anywhere else, like Poly, MBBQ etc... it is really wierd...

We go to Chef Mickey's just about every trip. It isn't something that I love because of the food but it is pretty good and the characters are fun. There is plenty to choose from so you can fill up. I always recommend it. It is a fun place to us.

My family loves Chef Mickey's. The food has always been good and the characters are great. My husband can't seem to get enough of the Parmesan mashed potatoes. We have never been for breakfast, but that might change next trip. :goodvibes

We've never had a bad experience at CM! It's one of the restaurants our kids still insist on going to each trip. The food isn't incredible, but it's good. There is a good selection for the kids (that's the most important aspect for us). The desserts are yummy (love those Oreos with Mickey ears). They rearranged the interior set up, which looks nice. We also noticed that the characters come in spurts. They were all in one room at the same time, which we haven't noticed before. That made it nice, knowing you weren't waiting on just one at the end of your meal. Donald isn't waiting inside the entrance anymore, either. He comes around to your table, which I like better!

We go to Chef Mickey's every trip and have always had fun. It is loud but it's fun. The food is pretty basic buffet food- the desserts are fun.

We went in November and June and will be returning in October- it beats standing in line to meet the Fab Five!

We have been here twice and had a good time both times. My husband and I went for breakfast my first trip and we loved it. The service was marvelous and my glass was never empty. The food was standard breakfast buffet fare with Mickey waffles added. Watch out, though, they have candy on the breakfast buffet! I am the world's meanest mom and have told my boys that they cannot have candy for breakfast-not even at Disney.
We went last May with 9 people for dinner. Dinner is a little less impressive than breakfast, in my opinion. It may have been because the server was not as good, but the food was a little less impressive, too. Not awful, just not impressive.
The characters are cool and the parade thing where you wave your napkin is fun. The kids loved it. I actually bought the picture package.
Some people complain about the noise, but you are in a room full of kids and Mickey Mouse. Seriously. CM is definitely worth a visit.

We've been twice, for dinner and for breakfast. The kids adored the place. Dh and I thought it just ok but preferred other places. We didn't find it dirty at all. If I were staying in the resort, I'd definitely go again.

Chef Mickey's is one of the places that are all about expectations. If you go in expecting a great meal you will be disappointed. If you go in expecting some decent standard breakfast food that isn't all that special you won't be. At Chef Mickey's you aren't paying for the food, you could get equal quality at a $5.99 breakfast buffet. You are paying for character interaction.

As long as you have realistic expectations going in you won't be disappointed.

WE love the excitement of having a meal at Chef Mickey's. We go for the fun & seeing the line-up of characters. The food is acceptable, but the fun is outstanding IMHO :dance3:

We've always had a good experience at Chef Mickey's. It's fun meeting Mickey and his friends, twirling your napkin during the song, and some tables are out so you can see the monorail going by. Yes, the food is not outstanding, but it's alright.

We have ALWAYS enjoyed Chef Mickey's for breakfast -- great variety, etc. It is our third favorite Character breakfast (after Crystal Palace and Cape May Cafe). We were VERY disappointed in dinner at Chef Mickey's the last time we ate there -- the characters seemed rush, the restaurant was dirty (food area, floors, tables, etc.) and the service was not very good at all. We could have hit an off night but we have given up on buffet dinners (except Biergarten and Cape May) at Disney.

This is my son's favorite place to eat. He insists on eating here everytime we go to Disney (we let each kid pick one special place to eat). He is 5, we have eaten here 4 times (always breakfast) an he loves it...characters are great, the staff makes sure you see each character...even when sitting near overzealous families...everyone gets their time....

Food is okay, resturant is clean...one downside, the bathrooms are down a pretty steep flight of stairs and difficult to get to quickly...

Have your kids go while you are waiting for a table and things will be great!!!

we enjoyed chef mickey's! daughter loved the characters and the food is basic buffet food. it was not dirty when we were there in october.

We eat there every trip and we have never had a downright awful experience. It's ALWAYS been clean, characters great about coming to all tables and spending enough time to sign autos and take pics, and servers were quick with taking away plates and getting drinks.

The food is hit or miss. NEVER nasty or gross, but sometimes it's awesome and other times it's just OK. We go more for the time with the characters and the atmosphere at the contemporary. I would say that we would never NOT go there, but as it happens our next trip we aren't going LOL!! But that's only becuase we scored Cindy's breakfast and that's our one $$$ meal for our trip.

:)

ETA we have never gone at breakfast, only dinner... we're not big breakfast people.

I have always had a blast at CM and never had bad service. When we went a couple years ago, we had awesome service. My friends who went recently said that the food wasn't as good as it was the last time they were there. I still HIGHLY suggest that place.
