I'm planning on making steaks tonite on the George Foreman grill, but not really sure how long to cook them. We have three - half pound steaks, sort of thin, but we like them well done. Anyone know about how long they should cook for, or have any good marinade ideas? Thanks.

I haven't used mine in a while - but It did work great! If you are in a hurry - or want to make sure they are well done without the outside being charcoal like you could butterfly the steaks. My husband loves when I marinate steaks in Italian Salad Dressing

I use my grill to cook steaks (we have filet mignon's) and grill salmon at least 3 times a week.

For my steaks (they are thick) I usually have them on it for 10-12 minutes. I take one off and slice the middle to check for doneness.

Oh, and I only use mesquite seasoning to give them that "cooked on the grill" flavor.

The cookbook that came with mine says:
ribeye, round steak, and tenderloin 5-7 minutes
sirloin 7-9 minutes
T-bone 8-9 minutes ( I haven't done these.)
I find I might cook it a little longer, we like them well done. Depends on the thickness.
Bottled Italian salad dressing works as a good marinade. I like to use rubs. Here's a couple recipes for rubs: (Refrigerate any leftover)
Mustard Pepper Rub
1 T. dry mustard
1/4 c. Paprika
2 T. black pepper
1T. cayenne papper
1 T. sugar

Southern Onion rub
2 T. dried onions
1/4 c. paprika
1 T. black pepper
2 t. cayenne pepper
2 t. onion powder
1 t. salt

here's one for a dipping sauce:
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 T. yellow mustard
2T. dark brown sugar
2 T. soy sauce
2 T. cider vinegar
2T. worchestershire sauce
1 T. lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 T. fresh parsley, finely minced
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Sauce should be thickened slightly when done. COol. Use immediately or store in refrigerator.

We have cooked several different kinds and I am finding that about 8-9 minutes is pretty good time unless they are thicker.

I think you'll be pleased with the results. We do thick steaks med rare(leaning toward rare) in about 7 minutes. 10-12 sounds reasonable for more well done.

Well, the steaks turned out great! They were thinner and were done in about 9 minutes. I'll have to start using this more often! The only pain is having to clean it after. Thanks.

When you are done cooking, place a couple of wet paper towels on the grill while you eat and that should help clean it up better.:)

We had steaks on the foreman grill last night. I like everything cooked well done so I cooked it for just under 15 minutes (and they were fairly small pieces). I also like to marinate the steak or boneless chicken in good seasons Italian dressing before throwing it on the grill. Very yummy!
