Has anyone Grand Planned DL?

I was just wondering if anyone out there has gone with the Disneyland Grand Plan? I noticed it doesn't offer quite as many features as the one WDW offers (i.e. only some meals are included). I was also wondering if they leave surprise gifts in your room like GF at WDW does?

Hi LuvTigger. I don't know the answer to your question(s), but I did want to reply because I noticed that you were from Kailua...and I have family there.

So, here goes a shot in the dark...do you know Danny and Vyra Burgess? Kekau, Kika, Kekona, or Kanoa? :D

Aloha Tia,

No, I don't know your family, but it's a small world! I haven't seen anyone else here from Kailua...

Hi, I know this is a late reply, but wanted to let you know I will be at DLH the week of valentines day, and we reserved the grand plan. I will try to get a trip report up as soon as I can when we return. I'll let you know about the gifts, or if in the end we think it was worth the extra $$.

Thanks for posting the reply, and I will be looking forward to your trip report!!!

If it's not too much trouble, could you make a note of what's included in the dinner that comes with the package? Thanks, have a wonderful time!!

I just received all our tickets, fastpass' etc from the hotel, and I don't see mention of dinner. There are tickets for a character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen, however. We have a four year old, so if they asked me which I preferred on the phone, dinner or breakfast, I would have chosen breakfast. If they did ask, I don't remember. Although, now I want to change it if I can because we are staying on the concierge level and breakfast is free in the concierge lounge. Where did you see the dinner option? I guess we just get the buffet at Goofy's.

I'll be curious if you find the Grand Plan 'overkill' since you are staying in concierge...food/meals wise. Look forward to your trip report since we were thinking of doing the exact same thing...then opted to just to the concierge and not the Grand Plan. ???

Have a wonderful time and say hi to Mickey for us. :)

chamonix,

Sorry for the late response, life has been hectic!

Regarding the dinner, I read it in several places, one of them being the Dreams Unlimited site, and the "official" Disney site. They both detail the Grand Plan, and it says that it includes dinner at Napa Rose (? is that the name of the restaurant in GC?). It doesn't say what comes with the dinner though (appetizer, entree dessert, etc.).

It sounds like a set thing...if you stay at DL Hotel, there's only one restaurant included in the Grand Plan there, and same for the former DL Pacific Hotel (can't remember the new name they changed it too). There isn't a choice of restaurants.

As far as breakfast, the Grand Plan includes two options: breakfast, and/or two different DL tours. My guess is the question they asked you was in regards to that.

I'm so excited for you, have a great time!!!

Thanks Chamonix for sharing what you received for your upcoming trip!

I know how fastpass works, but what is it they sent you? Is it a fastpass for the whole day for all fastpass rides?

Also, regarding the dinner. On the Dreams Unlimited site, and the official Disney site, they detail the Grand Plan, and they both list the same things, including one dinner. Each of the hotels has one restaurant selected for the Grand Plan dinner, GC's being Napa Rose. It didn't explain exactly what comes with dinner though, just that one dinner was included in the plan.

The plan allows you to select two options from a choice of walking tours, or breakfast, so my guess is the tickets they sent you are for that option. Where is Goofy's Kitchen? In one of the parks, or the hotel?

Thanks again for sharing all your information!!

The fastpasses are just one each for each member of our group. They are one time use only. The advantage is that we won't have to stand in line for that fastpass, nor will we have to use them at a certain time. We may not have to use them, my daughter has an autistic-like disorder which makes us eligible for special needs passes. We aren't sure if we will get the special needs pass or not. The kid in me thinks, no lines, whoohoooo...but the parent in me thinks standing in line with all the other kids could be a good learning experience for my daughter. I'll let you know. We leave FRIDAY!!!!

no clue on any of our packages...but FYI...the old pacific hotel is now the paradice peir hotel...it's got an awsome veiw of the new water frount....TTFn..

Someone asked where Goofy's Kitchen was located. It is in the Disneyland Hotel. I humbly believe that it is one of the best character breakfasts I have ever attended (several times now), including those at DisneyWorld. The characters (and it seems like there are more than at other places) really interact. Last time, we must have spent over 10 minutes with the Mad Hatter teasing our kids (and my elderly mother!). Anyways, it is a great choice!!
