Has ANYONE gotten a corral change for marathon?

OP, like others have stated, there was notification when we signed up. If you get cranky with this policy and them not bending for you, don't try racing an Ironman branded race as they have an even longer rules list and never return emails! As another poster stated earlier, this run start will be way safer than any Ironman or any triathlon start, regardless of your corral placement.

Look at it this way, you're running at Disney and this race is about fun. While I may be going for a PR, if Tigger or Dug are on the course all bets are off!

Agree with others, we all registered for our respective races and plainly saw about the corral placement deadline. The biggest reason for doing this is so that people are coming in at the last minute with fake times/races and jamming the corrals. Disney has many more corrals this year and is trying to make the start for each corral easier and not so jammed up. As someone else pointed out, if over 21,000 sent in times before the deadline then some need to read all the entrance material better. Glad Disney is sticking to their deadline and not allowing corral moving now - wouldn't be fair to all of us that followed the deadline date.

Yes, 7 from RD. Not all about marathon, but several mentioned marathon. It's clear they have my email address. The point is - this is SUCH a different policy from other races and SUCH a difference in the way they've handled things in the past, they should communicate better. It's fine. I know others disagree, but I'll be fine with the bib I bought.

I think you're just asking for runDisney to ban you from their races, lol.

Last Jan, I was changing my carrel. The person in front of me at Runners' Relations was trying to show the person his Garmin to get a carrel change. Seriously. And was doing the "If I am nasty enough, you will give me what I want" tactic that I remember from my retail days. Held up the line and had the poor women he was yelling at shaking

No wonder they won't make changes at the expo any more.

My gosh, what a nasty thing to do! As you remember that from retail I remember it from working in the airlines...the 'I want an upgrade' crowd...they don't want to pay for the upgrade they just want one!

I am glad for that reason alone that Disney stopped that. Showing someone who is a VOLUNTEER your garmin as proof of what? That because the garmin said you can run a one minuet mile should put you ahead of others? C'mon.

i would think that someone who seems so serious about their running and who has done multiple disney races would read the information when they register for a race. i'm not one to always read the fine details and even i saw the rules about changing corrals.

oh and it was definitely talked about on the DIS. like, alot. and someone with 1000+ posts would probably notice that.

corral placement - it is what it is. don't get your undies all in a knot because you can't read the rules. were you going to win? nope. so just relax and have a good race. it's disney. not the olympics.

So here's the "Paul Harvey". I had a local half I couldn't run for irrelevant reasons. A buddy ran that at a sub-6 minute pace. "I" got a plack for being 2nd in my division. I could have taken that time and gotten an awesome placement, but I did the right thing and ran another half (the time I turned in late). Then run Disney were *****. So what did I do now? I bought someone else's bib in a MUCH better corral. In the end, all Run Disney did is cost me an extra $140. I'll still be in a good corral, and they're *******s.

It didn't just cost you $140. Now you can't use this race as an official time for anything. You better hope that you don't PR this race and need to use it for proof for anything. You also better hope that Disney doesn't find out that you bought someone else's bib as that will earn you a ban from all active races (not just Disney).

I find it completely hilarious that you are complaining about Disney following the rules when you cannot even follow the rule of NO BIB BUYING.

The best thing the op can do at this point is to email RunDisney a suggestion...that they put the pot requirements and date due up front...even have someone initial it that they understand if they don't email their pot by a certain then they will be in the back...nuff said.
He would add that doing this would considered a safety issue too...by letting people know up front about pot requirements and coral placements...this is to ensure that the faster runners are closer to the front and the walkers are behind everyone.

Overall...it was a smart thing they did...to NOT allow anyone to change their corals at the expo...the people there have enough to do than to sit there and try to decide if the race you were in was real...and what coral to put you in...

Lesson learned and applied...for future RD races...for the op.:)

As far as running under a separate bib, I really think Mr Cruz is smart enough to work around this little problem. It's fairly simple unless....

Thanks for posting that. Although I'm a little further back in the half placement than I should be, the marathon corral "I" I'm in correlates well to the "C" I was in before.

My sil was in C last year for the Goofy challenge and in I this year for the Dopey. When she did the half marathon alone she was in B.
As for me...I was always in the back...because I never submitted any times of anything. This time I am in K.

The funny thing is that while in I, you may cross the start line quicker than you did in C last year.
