Can anyone give me any good insights about going to the world in February?
My DS still gets a winter break in February and was considering a trip then. The only problem I can see would be the weather here in New England.
What are the crowd levels like and what is the weather like in Florida this time of year?

I went this year Feb 4-11th and had an absolute blast!!!!!The crowds were pretty low during the middle of the week but picked up on the weekends due to Dance competitions they were holding... The weather to me was perfect .. sweatshirts during the morning and evening hours but during mid day was warm enough to swim.... and that was during a record cold snap they had this year!!! I walked on mist rides and never waited more than 20 minutes to ride anything!!! I also have gone to the world in late June and December and Feb is definately my favorite time to go!!! Crowds do piuck up considerably during Martin Luther King week due to vacation but I say go for it the werather is awesome compared to these cold Mass winters!! nice to take a break!!!

February is a real crap shoot. Early in the month crowds are pretty low and manageable but beware, spring break crowds start showing up around Valentine's day. The weather can be hit or miss. In the morning it may be pretty chilly but by lunchtime warm up enough to wish you'd worn shorts. We get a locker and bring along shorts and also can put our jackets in it when we don't need them anymore. We were there last year from February 9th to the 14th. The last couple of days crowds were definitely picking up. The first week though is a great time to go. It's too cool then really for the waterparks or pools though. And park hours are much shorter, usually closing at 7 during the week and 9 on the weekends. The upside is early in the month is still value season. You'll get a far better rate before Valentine's day than after. Hope that helps.

We live in central Florida and have Seasonal Passes. This past February, the weather was just delightful, but that is no guarantee. Other than Presidents' Week, the crowds were very light. We went twice and had a great time!

The crowds are certainly not comparable to the summer or Christmas week. However if President's Week & Mardi Gras fall on the same week while you are there, the crowds may be higher than you anticipate. The weather is generally wonderful. We generally wear a light sweater or jacket in the morning & in the evening. My DDs went swimming while I watched wrapped in my sweater.

I have been there in Feb. the weather the first time was cold we had to end up buying sweatshirts and pants there but then we went the following year in Feb. and it was shorts weather. As far as the crowds go it wasnt bad but I think there is some sort of cheerleading :cheer2: thing going on in Feb.so a lot of screaming girls running around.

I went this past February on President's Day. It was busy but not too bad. I've been in the summer before and it wasn't as crazy as that can be. The temp was nice but I did need a light jacket in the evening.

We were there in Feb 04, end to first week in MArch.. The first 2 days it was as cold as NY was....after that it warmed up nicely to shorts weather. Hardly any lines

I love Feb. and the weather is great. Not to hot or way to cold. We went one year in Jan. and found it not so nice at all but the crowds were good. But then the next year we went 3 weeks later in the beginning of Feb. and the crowds were light still and the weather was much warmer. Still need jackets at night but can wear shorts in the day and I even got a great tan. Coming from a cold place with tons of snow anything about 60 is good for us and warm. Also the characters can stay out longer because of the weather. :lmao:

Next trip: Feb. or March 2007 at POR

We visited last Feb and it was great! The days were mild but the evenings were very chilly. The crowd levels were low too, except for the last weekend where there was a big NADA convention.

We went right before Valentine's day and literally raced ahead of the BLIZZARD of '06. We were supposed to FLY and knew if we didn't leave the day before, we would lose two days!! So we drove on down. (Just reminding you that weather can be a bummer!!!)

Anyway, it was delightful ... we froze most of the days but dressed warmly and in layers so no problem. I don't think it is usually that cold -- blame it on the cold front!!!

Crowds were really managable and we made it on every ride we wanted to in all the parks.

I love Florida in February (been there several times though not at WDW - can you believe that!!) -- but this is the second time we got hit with a blizzard during that time so next winter trip to FL will be March.
