We'd walk to WDW before we ever take ATA again. We had to layover for several hours at another airport while the weather cleared, with nothing to eat or drink, and despite the fact we were at one of their gates, they would not let us off the plane. I finally got to speak to the pilot who over-ruled the flight attendants and ground crew. We were told we could not leave the gate and were specifically instructed not to travel down to the restaurant. Meanwhile, the flight attendants did just that and as we were boarding the plane stood there eating their meals in front of us.
If that wasn't enough, my DW's bags were broken into, several items stolen and then someone took the cap off her shampoo and poured it all over the inside of her suitcase and then replaced the cap! They didn't seem the least bit surprised by the theft and vandalism by their own baggage carriers.
When DW submitted a list of missing items they demanded original receipts. Does anyone keep a receipt for a one yr old hair dryer, or a game boy and games? My DW (she's the BEST!) did her homework and began a letter writing and email campaign to every corporate officer she could find. After about 6 weeks they gave in and paid for the items their employees stole or damaged.
Fly ATA? Not us!
