exercise while dising?
I just watched the biggest loser & I've SO GOTTA DO SOMETHING - but I want to do it while I'm sitting here online -
surely there's been something invented by now??? :confused3

We set up a "walking desk" for exactly that purpose! Basically, it's a treadmill with a flat panel monitor suspended over it, a board across the treadmill's "arms" to serve as a desk to hold a keyboard and a trackball. Everything gets connected up my laptop which sits off to the side on a secure table. I can walk at up to 2.8 mph before I lose the ability to type and use the trackball. I don't have a picture of my setup, but if you Google "walking desk" you'll find a few sites where people have posted pictures of their own version of one. Some people just put their laptop on a board across the arms of the treadmill, but I wanted the monitor at eye level so I opted for a separate monitor. The monitor supports multiple inputs so you can also hook it up to a cable box and watch TV on it! (I need every distraction I can get to stay on that treadmill...)

We're still working on that! For now, I've got a plastic flower pot bolted to a pipe clamp that is clamped around one of the treadmill's "arms". It works great as a place to hold my water bottle.

My DH gets a LOT of email every day and sometimes has to watch webcasts for work, so he does that on our walking desk. He can walk 3-4 miles just reading and answering his email!
