Taken an air mattress with them to a Disney resort so that 2 bigger teenagers didn't have to sleep together in a double bed? How was your experience?

Well, we've done it twice: once at OKW in a studio and once at the Dolphin. Both times we had more than enough room. Not sure where you are staying, though. It may be cramped in a value room......

We have an Eddie Bauer version of an aerobed...purchased at Target. It has a built-in pump that is battery operated (4-D). Turn the pump one way and the bed inflates in less than 2 minutes. Turn the pump the other way to completely deflate and fold. Stores in it's own backpack and it took up no more room than 2-3 pairs of DH's folded jeans in the luggage. Loved it!

HTHs!

I have at the all star movies, just put it up against the wall during the day. and next to the door at nite on the floor.
no problem!

We will be at POFQ. Not as small as the All-Stars, but not that big, either. Thanks for your replies.

we did at POR, I think the rms are about the same size. We had a smaller, kid-size one, and put it between the beds. I think we could have used an adult one with no problem.

We have a full sized aero bed that we have taken several times, including POFQ and CBR....no problem, it fit nicely between the first bed and the door at night and we stood it up and slid it between the second bed and the wall during the day. Everyone still had plenty of room to walk through the room, get to the bathroom, etc.

Yes, we've always taken our twin size Aerobed with us. Plenty of room at CBR, CSR, AKL and WL. :)

Thank you all. I think we will be doing this then.

Although we've never taken an air mattress for our teens (since we don't have any yet..LOL)...we have in fact taken our aerobed MANY times for our young dd to sleep in. She started sleeping on an aerobed in WDW at age 3. Now and then she uses it but now she prefers sleeping in a regular bed.

But when we do set it up we rearrange the furniture a bit and then stand the aerobed up during the day to allow for more "walking" space and so housekeeping can clean around it. The aerobed is great! We usually put hers along the wall (where the amoire is) and move the desk or table and chairs to the other side of the room or by the slider in the rooms we stayed in (mostly at the S/D).

We have for DS's 14 & 15 and it worked great. I will say however if we could ever swing it we would get two rooms because they do argue over who gets the bed. princess:

Has anyone ever used an aerobed at POR while using the trundle bed as well?

Also what bed size is a full size aerobed?

For those of you who replied that you took aerobeds, did you take sheets/blankets as well or did you get extras from mousekeeping?

What a great idea :flower:
We spent two whole weeks, several years ago, with DS (then 10) and DD (14) taking it in turns to sleep on the floor so they didn't have to get too close to each other  :rotfl:

I've always had a sheet and mattress pad for it since a "fitted" sheet works best. I keep everything in the aerobed bag so it is a little bulky, but we drive so it's easy to toss the bag in our trunk. (we take our pillows too:))

our's came with it's own, kind of like a sleeping bag with a little pillow attached. We've also gotten extra sheets/blankets from housekeeping with no problems.

We used both the trundle and the aerobed in POR last trip.

We always take an air mattress with us. It's part of our standard Disney luggage now. Have used it a BC BWV and CBR and never had a problem. Makes it much more comfortable rather than sharing beds! Have done it both ways brought our own sheets and used those provided. Never had a problem!
