I see sweepstakes all the time for trips to WDW and I entered just about every one. Has anyone here ever won a trip and if so who from? I never have. :sad2:

I won a trip once but it was through my father's union. Unfortuantely, things happened and I wasn't able to go :(

We won a trip for two in 2003. It was the Downtown Disney promotion. It has changed now, but back then we won 4 nights stay at Doubletree, 2 -5 day Park Hoppers, 2 1- day tickets to Pleasure Island and breakfast for two each morning. All we had to do was tell them when we wanted to go :cool1: We even were able to have DD 16 and a friend stay with us free of charge. We just had to furnish their tickets and breakfast :woohoo:. We were notified by snail mail and I told DW that there had to be a catch and not to get excited, because nothing is free. Mark that down in your log books, because that is the only time I have ever been wrong :smooth:! Really it was awesome! That was our third trip in a row and we bought into DVC three months after returning home :Pinkbounc ! Now we are lifers :yay:

WOW, sounds awesome!! Glad to hear there are still "free" things in this world that truly don't have any catches!!

They still have a promotion ongoing, but it is much different now. I found it hard to believe and was skeptical right up to check in when they handed over the tickets. I figured the whole time that it would be some sort of timeshare promotion, but that was not the case. All we had to do was show up at the time we booked. We were treated wonderfully at the Doubletree at Downtown Disney and if we hadn't bought DVC after returning home, we would not hesitate to stay there again. We had our vehicle so we never used their transportation and can't say how that aspect is, but otherwise they were great!

Yes, I won a trip through GM/Chevrolet in 1990. It was a trip for 4, all expenses (except travel) paid! I couldn't go either!! Gave the trip to my parents who took my sister and niece. They stayed at the Contemporary and had a great time! I still kick myself for missing out on such an awsome experience!!

If anyone reads this who has a free trip to give away - I will volunteer to take it! Pick me! Pick me!

I have not won a trip yet, still believing in pixie dust finding me. pixiedust:

Anyways, totally off topic here. :offtopic: I noticed your name. I just had to comment. I, too, have a Kaitlin. Everyone seems to misspell her name. Everyone wants to put that 'y' in her name. I know I am crazy, but I get a kick when I see others spell Kaitlin the same way. I know. I am totally  I can't wait until our trip in December. Kaitlin is turning 13 while we are there!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to say Hi from another "Kaitlin" mom. We always get weird looks on how we spell it then people ask her twin sister "how do you spell your name?" She says "The normal way" LOL! Her name is Amanda.

DW won a trip for a family of 4 when she was 9 , They had to name 50 disney characters and think up a name for the drawing of a new one. The trip overed everything and back in the seventys hardly anyone from England would have been. It was a dream come true. :thumbsup2

No such luck here. Can I make believe and hide the bills from DW? :rotfl2: Of course, she might notice the unexplained drop in the check book balance. :sad2: I guess I'll just keep entering the contests and hope.

My DW (fiance at the time) won a trip to WDW right before spring break in '94'. It was a contest from her college and her name was drawn. We had an all expence paid trip for 5 days. They put us up at Fort Wilderness Cabins. Awesome trip, we went back for our honeymoon the following year and have visited about every year since! :thumbsup2

When I was freshman in college (back in 1983), my sister who is 18 months older entered a sweepstake for herself and her boyfriend (BF) in our local bank. Right before she left, she decided to enter one for me too. Couple of months later, I received a letter stating that I have won a trip for 2 to Disneyland (see my list of trips below). I thought that it was a junk mail. I was about to trash it when she saw the letter and told me that it was real. I wanted to give the trip to my sister and BF. However, I decided to go and take her. I am glad the BF didn't get to go. They broke up couple of months later. :)

oops. This is a trip to Disneyland and not WDW! I guess it doesn't count. :confused3

I think I have posted this before but..

In 1987 my mom dropped ONE entry (paper) into a box at Captain D's (a fast food place). He name was drawn and SHE WON......

An all expense paid DW trip for 4 including flight, meals, hotel, tix everything. I was 14 at the time so I reaped the benefits bigtime. I had never been and I remember feeling like Royalty..we stayed on property (a place called Pickett Resort then, I think its in what is now DTD?) , ate whatever we wanted..really magical!

It was really a life changing thing for us because I am now 33 and my family & I are life long Disney goers!

She is lucky I guess because she also won a diamond ring one time when I was a kid...

See how a little slip of paper can turn you into a DISAHOLIC :confused3

I have. I won a trip all expenses paid (except travel, too). I won it through my school when I was in 2nd grade. It was through Crayola. I drew a picture and it won my family and I a trip lol. Pretty cool. I am sure there is more to the story than that, but that is all I remember.

It is soooo great to hear that people have actually won some of these contests. I enter just about every WDW contest that I can find in hopes that maybe one day I can go without stressing over the financial part of it. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that maybe one day it will happen. My dream vacation would be to stay at the WL. I love the beauty of that resort.

Hello, to the other Kaitlin Mom's. Everyone spells my daughters name wrong to, even her Doctor. I am glad to see there are others who know how to spell it right. :lmao: My Kailtin just turned 15 on the 18th of Aug. They grow up so fast.

To: I Love Pluto: I will also volunteer to take a trip that anyone is giving away.

Nope, not I.. The closest thing to won a vacation there, was the Cm discounts ;)

Yep, my son won a all expense (worth 5000.00) to disney last summer. he won it from an essay he submitted to the National Christmas Tree Association.
