HAs anyone ever used Hotwire to rent a car???

Trying to get the best deal on a rental car and so far Hotwire seems to have the best deal. Never used them before and am a little leary. Any advice would be great! Trying to pay for everything now for our May trip while the dollar is at par.

Just booked our March break car rental, and found priceline to have better rates than hotwire. I guess it depends on the dates tho. Haven't used them, but its the same basic principle as priceline, which I have had nothing but good experiences with, so hopefully same would hold true of hotwire. Good luck!

I used Hotwire for my Jan 08 trip and had a good experience. We were very happy with our midsized car from Dollar, didn't pay anything extra from what Hotwire said we would pay, and our total was only $105 for a Sunday through Saturday rental.

One thing to note, they would have charged us $10 extra a day to add a second driver so we decided just to have my dh do all the driving. Whoo hoo for me!

When you do a search in Hotwire, it gives you a price per day for each car class. Sometimes when you actually click on a car class to see more details, the price will drop even further.

We've used hotwire for car rentals a couple of times. When you book, you will know who you are renting from ahead of time, and you will receive a confirmation number directly from the company. You may or may not have to prepay the rental.

We were happy with the price when we've used them. No extras.
