Has anyone ever tried soft claws for their cat?

My Dad is no longer able to take care of his cat. She has been at our house before for her vacation, so she is very happy here (..Our house is known as the NW Surburban Cat Resort and Spa.. )
anyway, she has claws and is starting to claw our wood work..
I check on the internet and there is a product called soft claws.
Has anyone ever tried these? Does it work?

I use these for my cat. They work pretty well, but sometimes he tries to chew them off, but then I just put a new one on.

I just heard on tv that you can put double-sided tape on furniture/walls where the cat likes to claw, and they HATE that! So they look for a better place to claw and if you have a scratching post...jackpot!
