Has anyone ever told you that windchimes are evil?

Ours is evil, it is made up of skeleton heads with fangs like a vampire. Got it for Halloween but we keep it up year round to keep our weird neighbors away.

But if you did that, would the evil spirits the chimes were warding off follow you home instead?:scared:
I think I would rather have the evil spirits then listen to those wind chimes night after night.:rotfl: With the evil spirits, I will just call a local priest!

I agree, I think it is VERY rude of people to hang windchimes anywhere near where they would be heard by neighbors. I can't stand them and I don't know what I would do if my neighbors hung them near my house but I know someting "bad " would happen to those windchimes!! If people like them so much let them hang them inside the house right by an open window and then they can "enjoy" the clanging and pinging all they want inside their own home!

This is how my neighbor is....the windchimes are on the corner of the house which is by my close windows to my bedroom. There bedroom is on the otherside of the house in the front.:headache:

I remember reading in a feng shui book that wind chimes clear the negative energy out of a room. You jingle your wind chimes from time to time to clear the atmosphere.

Yep! They help clear energy and, when placed outside the front door, help attract positive energy.:)

My neighbor's windchimes (along with the ones in their backyard, they have 2 on their front porch) are not attracting positive energy. They are attracting the urge to kill energy -- from me! :rotfl:

I LOVE  windchimes!!!!

we are out in the country so mine don't bother anyone. :rolleyes1

my porch has dozens of them on during the summer/fall period, but I don't seem to really hear them anymore.

I searched for a certain kind, the glass chinese ones that they used to sell in the 60's , I love those!! luckily I was able to find some,, I also have seen them as a retro on ebay high $$$.

now my sister can't stand them!

I find them very relaxing. But then, I grew up with a pumping oil well in my back yard behind my bedroom window, so you have to put it in perspective. :rotfl2: Add the occasional coyote to childhood sleep patterns and the windchimes are like a slice of heaven. :lmao:

When we moved to the new house, I didn't put any up. But now I am inspired! We have neighbors behind us with a barking dog that they don't seem to EVER hear even though all the other neighbors do, especially at 2:00 a.m. Maybe windchimes will drown out his yapping. Just annoying the beast would be enough to please me. :thumbsup2

They are supposed to repel negative energy (or evil, if you prefer, lol).
Obviously yours are broken as your MIL was able to enter your home.

Crap! ANOTHER reason to get them up ASAP. :rotfl2:

I love the sound of windchimes. As a matter of fact I have a collection of them. Never heard of anyone saying they were evil and wouldn't believe it if I did hear it.

Never heard that one. But I won't be burning sage in any form any time soon! :earseek:

My MIL seems to believe that windchimes summon spirits. Ever heard of such??

Yes, from my SIL.....

She also believes "Harry Potter" is summoning the devil and people that are mentally ill are possessed by demon spirits.

As far as Disney...also evil since it involves "magic" because "magic" is evil.

DH collects them so we must be full of evil spirits if this is true. If they chase them away we're good.
