I have an old ipod I need to get rid of, but I'm not sure of how to dispose of it. Obviously, I'm not going to throw it out because that's like throwing $100 down the toilet. I found a website (not going to name-drop because that's not allowed I don't think) that seems legit but I'm kind of hesitant.

Has anyone ever sold anything like through a website or ebay or anything before? I don't really know what to do, I just know I want to get rid of this cause no one needs it.

NOTE: I am NOT trying to sell anyone my ipod. I'm just trying to figure out how to get started selling.

Ebay seems really complicated though. I don't like the idea of PayPal. Can anyone explain about ebay more?

I heard good things about craigslist. I know someone who sold their prom dress on it.

I would try from people in your classes, friends on facebook, etc. first. I know a lot of my friends are always into buying second hand crap from each other, or they know someone who is looking.

Then if no luck try craigslist or something of the sort.

I usually use Ebay. I have sold laptops, artwork, and Disney pins
I use Esty for selling stuff i make like my photographs.

Ebay is a PAIN to use. I really, really don't like to sell things on ebay.

I suggest Craigslist. I've sold my American Girl Dolls, an ipod, and some purses on there -- It's not complicated at all, you usually get replies fast (I got offers for my ipod within an hour of putting up the ad), and you don't have to ship the item.

How has Craigslist worked out for you guys? This company is only offering me $20 for a great condition, barely used ipod nano 2nd generation. I don't think that's a good price at all.

craigslist works great sometimes. it really depends on the person. i bought a couch, and it was a great experience. i tried to buy a shelf, and the girl freaked out because i couldn't pick it up as soon as she emailed me (at 8pm on a wednesday night) and wouldn't email me back after that.

so it really depends on the person. i've never sold on it, only bought. but i guess hte same goes for ebay. there are crazy people every where.

craiglist for sure.

Create a separate email to use for contact info and let your parents talk on the phone.

I sold my drums on there to a nice family.

make sure to point out any flaws with your merchandise. And deduct the price accordingly. You won't be getting $100 for a used ipod. Maybe $75 but $50 is more realistic.

I would go with eBay, personally. They're pretty secure and you can usually sell your stuff for a good price, but yeah, it's a big thing to set up an account and list your items and get everything going. There's a bit of work involved. Do you know anyone who already sells with eBay? Maybe they could list your iPod for you. (I think there's a small fee for listing, though.)

didn't read the replies so dont know if anyones said this, but apple will by old ipods and refurb them to sell again. not sure if you'll get a bettter price on them then if u where to sell it on EBAY but u could look into it

My mom and dad both sell things on Craigslist and ebay...Ebay is kind of complicated. You would need the patience to let people bid.
Craigslist you sell the things to people in the area but you have to be careful to not be in contact with any creeps! lolz! But I would probably go with Craigslist because you dont have to pay any shipping or any fees! Plus you sell the items to people in your area.

Hope this helps!:)
