I have been told by a very reliable source the coffee is instant nescafe???
I have always wondered why it just didn't satisfy me for my morning fix..
Has anyone else noticed this??? :scared: :scared:

It's awful. I bring my own from home. I'm used to my coffee & chicory down here.;)

I think it's because of the water. I hate the taste of the local water supply down there. I found every cup of coffee I had in Disney World to really suck, except for the coffee at POR. I refilled my mug with it everyday.

Yep, it's awful! I bring my own too. I hear Swan/Dolphin have Starbucks.

If you get a chance, Kona Cafe at the Polynesian has WONDERFUL coffee. They also have a little coffee bar right inside the hotel when you get off the monorail. :thumbsup2

My mother cannot function without her coffee in the mornings. She brings her own coffee and uses bottled water. I sure do appreciate her doing that because she can get awful cranky!!!!;)

Funny you should mention this...I'm a "coffee snob" and I think the coffee at POFQ was better than others. It's been too long since we stayed at POR to remember but perhaps they serve the same.
The coffee at the Poly is ok too. I didn't taste the pressed pot Kona but the restaurant coffees there were ok.

nope, you're the first to notice!!! :rotfl2: (sorry, couldn't resist, really I'm just kidding)

Usually I make my own with bottled water. I have even jumped in the car and drove over to SOG to get Starbucks!!!!!!!!! That is one of many good things about SOG. It's about time Disney bring in some good coffee.

Disney staff told us all coffee at resort and through all parks is instant nescafe, It's too WEAK- stand up & be heard;Spread the word!!

Also read that Kona Cafe does have real Kona coffee; as well as 1 stand in epcot. That coffee ,of course, will never be part of the refillable mugs!

This Disneycatz button reads: "Give me coffee and no one gets hurt!"
Gift from my DD 7 DH; who appreciate the value of mom having 1 very good cup of coffee in the early A.M.

Starbucks in Swan? Will have to check it out.....

:coffee:

SOG has Starbucks?!?! I might need to rethink taking ME and rent a car so I can go there! :-)

Count me in the "bring my own from home" camp. Too much going on to not get that jump start in the morning. At the parks we get a coffee and a cocoa to mix together and cut the bite.

I read on the boards that they have changed the coffee from nescafe to a new brand. Did anyone else read that? Is it true?

This is what I do too. Does anyone know if the in room coffee makers take cone or flat bottom filters?

Coffee at Disney is brewed using the greenest water from the 7 Seas Lagoon.

OK, it's not, but it tastes like it.

There are two know "Coffee Sanctuaries" outside of Deluxe Resort Concierge Lounges.

One is at the Polynesian at the Kona Coffee Bar. The other is the pastry shop on the boardwalk. They serve good espresso and cappuccino along with pastries.

Otherwise, AKCL has the very best espresso/cappuccino machine. The others have those machines that make it from a mix. Doesn't really cut it, IMHO. :snooty:

I usually bring my own roast, a french press and get hot water from the lounge if they're open as early as I wake up. Much easier at the Polynesian as they are open pretty much 24/7. Yacht/Beach Club and Boardwalk have restricted hours for their lounge so you'd be out of luck.

I roast my own beans when I have time. I prefer Colombian Huila and a few Brasilian beans. Thrilled with a good dark roast but the Colombian Huila as a medium roast has an incredible woody flavor that I've not been able to find with other beans.

Anyways, yeah. Disney coffee makes me want to cry. So I bring my own "fix".

Here's a good source on coffee roasting and supplies for those interested: www.sweetmarias.com

I agree with bad unfiltered water. The first time I had Kona Coffee at Kona Cafe, I was wowed. The last time I could taste the poor water quality. Forget the resort coffee its just horrible. Where's the puke icon?? :sad2:

A couple years ago someone April Fooled on a board site that Starbucks was going to be in the castle.
