Has anyone ever had a serious premonition come true?

Thanks for the hugs holycow. I could use them right now. I was surprised they weren't concerned as well but then I thought that maybe it wasn't that high for normal people. Just high for me. I feel really encouraged by everyone here. I also don't feel stupid because others have had premonitions that came true. That in itself is so uplifting. Actually except for posting here I have only told one friend about this and I did that yesterday morning just before a meeting so we weren't able to talk a lot. He was one person I thought would not tell me I was stupid. Premonitions are hard to explain to others if they have never had them. I really don't think they would even want to hear a premonition about this if they don't even want to hear the other ones.

Tigercat, here's another  and some :wizard: pixie dust for a good appointment with your doctor. Premonitions are one thing but you've also had physical symptoms and at least one recorded bout of high blood pressure. Any doctor should take that seriously!!

I think you should trust your instincts and premonitions! ::yes::

Dreams considered premonitions? If so....a lot and it is creepy. They are usually bad things. If a premonition is only a waking thought, yes to that as well and it wasn't good.

I've learned to trust my instincts as well, though I can't remember having anything as dramatic as some people here have. Although actually one was and it was one time I didn't listen to my instincts. That was the time my DH had a panic attack when we were a few miles out of a small town in Colorado and on 4x4 roads. The night before, I had this strong feeling we shouldn't go up that road, as long as we didn't take that road, we'd be fine. I figured it was just me nervous driving a 4x4 road for the first time (no matter that I'd been on it two dozen times as a passenger, this was my first time driving it) and we tried anyway. That failure to listen to my instincts / premonitions / guideance ended up costing DH a month and half worth of hospital ER visits and doctor's visits and lost work. I'm positive that if I'd listened to that warning, he would have been fine.

I would totally agree with you and the others -- try to find some doctor who will take you seriously, and put your foot down. Let them know they may not see it as an issue, but what's it going to cost *them* to run some tests (you and/or your insurance should pay for it). If they come back clear, it will at least ease your mind. If not, then you've caught a problem hopefully early enough.

Good luck.

Well I went to the Dr's. She was worried that I had had a blood pressure that high and they didn't look at me. She sent me for some blood tests and then she said she'd go from there. She thought of a blood pressure thing that you wear for a couple of days so it would keep track of you pressure for quite a long time. SHe was more concerned this time so that was good. I think it helped that my chiropractor had seen me on Fri. when I was having trouble and wanted me to go to the hospital at that point. Up here we don't have insurance companies that we have to wait to pay for tests but it can take a long time before you get to see a specialist or have tests done. The big tests and seeing a cardiologist can take up to 8 months before you get in. At least my Dr. has started to look at things. It was funny though because they can't get blood from me and I usually go to a clinic here in town but because of one test I had to go to the hospital lab. I had 3 of them working on me before they finally were able to get enough blood.
My dreams are usually the more real of the two though processes. The worst dream I had was when I was pregnant with my 3rd I dreamt of his death and the birth of my 4th. Everything happened exactly like my dream and my son died. When I got pregnant with my 4th everyone else was upset and worried but me. I knew he was going to be a boy and when he was going to be born (2 weeks late) and he was going to be big and healthy. At the time no one believed me about that one either until it happened.

Well, no offense, but I really hope you're wrong about this one. ;) :hugs:

I'm glad your dr is taking a look at things.

I have weird dreams too. I've dreamt in color one time and I knew the person in my dream was going to die from the premonition of my dream. He was given 6 months to live not too long after that (but he lived 2 years longer than they expected).

I had a weird pregnancy dream with my ds. I dreamt he weighed 4 pounds 12.12 ounces. I thought that was such a stupid number. He was born 3 weeks early on the 4th, born at 12:12 pm.:teeth:

I'm hoping your premonition was more of a warning of what could happen. Good that you are checking it out.

It does seem strange. I am not really freaking out about this which seems strange because you would think if you thought you only had a couple of weeks to live you would be really worried. I am not totally sure what this premonition really means. As you know sometimes premonitions are warnings and some mean something else. And also as you say it could just be a warning about something.

This has only happened to me one time but it took years to fulfill./

As long as I can remember, I always feared childbirth and felt that I would die during the process. For a young girl in growing up in the sixties, is was quite an unusual idea. Almost every girl dreamed of getting married and having kids.

Decades later, I was an infertility patient that was still struggling with the "irrational" nagging thought of my death. Even though my fears never subsided, I tried to bury them under myu desire to have a family. I had already had one miscarriage and was pregnant once more. I fought the feelings of dread until the 10th gestational week. I felt a little ill but no alarms for the Dr. The voice in my head, however, started to scream quite loudly. It was actually an abdominal pregnancy that was ready to rupture. I got to the hospital in the nick of time and am alive to share my story.

Ironically, I had a little scare last month and thought I might be pregnant. At 49 years old, with a poor merdical history, I should have been pertified. However, I had not fears at all. Those old feelings never surfaced.

I'm so glad your Dr. was more receptive this time around!
Hopefully she will stay on top of things and make sure
you get the treatmeat you deserve...whatever it may be....

I have no answers about the premotions ...I've had a few myself some pleasant and some not so pleasant...but hopefully this is just a warning about taking care of yourself..

Take care!
Lisa

Claudia it is a good thing you listened to your "inner voice" or we wouldn't have your presence here. Maybe this is the same thing. I have a trip to look forward to in Jan. so maybe this is a way to get ready for it. It is fasinating to hear how so many have premonitions that come true. Sometimes if you don't know anyone else who does the same thing you do you think you are weird but after finding others than you feel better about it yourself. Does that make sense?
