Has anyone ever gotten a non-AP discount code for early December?

Hello, all!
I am helping a friend plan his first trip to WDW in over 20 years ! He is going with his very sweet girlfriend, and he wants to stay in a deluxe for about $150/night for about 4 nights; he'd like to stay in the MK area. I told him that if codes are out for the general public for that time that he may be able to book a room at WL for at or under that price. Has anyone ever seen or used a code for that time?

Another question: We have a friend that is a CM, and HE (CM) told us that he could get my friend a room for about %50 off rack rate. Has anyone heard of this before? I told my friend to not rely on that or get his hopes up that that is a valid way to book a discounted room.

I'd appreciate any advice/info you have to give!

I remember getting good discounts using code rates available to the general public during mid-December about 2 years ago. To be honest, since then I know I have gotten discounted rates but I can't remember if the codes I used were annual passholder discounts or general codes. The rate I got about 2 years ago was approx. 40% off at the Poly. Hope that helps!

Disney CM's can book rooms with a 50% discount for family and friends... I want to say it is up to 5 rooms per year. They however must do the booking & be present when you check in to show their ID or you will not be allowed to check in with that rate. Also th 50% CM discounts can sometimes be hard to come by....

When we went in 2002 I was able to book non-ap "code rate" for this period. Keep your eyes out on this board and mousesavers.

But if you friends CM friend can get a 50% off rate, then thats the one to "go for." You won't find a better discount.
