Has anyone ever flew out of Jackson, MS (JAN)?

This will be our first time flying (period) out of Jackson, MS. I've never been inside the airport. Is there an area that my mom could wait with us while we're waiting for our flight? I think she's a little nervous about just dropping us off and leaving. I think she wants to actually see us get on the plane.

We don't really want to have to pay for mom to park the car and come in and can't wait with us or something. We plan on getting to the airport really early just in case. (At least 2 hours before the plane leaves.) We're leaving on the day after Thanksgiving. We want to get there early just in case the airport is super busy. Have I confused anyone? TIA!

It has been several years since I have flown out of Jackson, but if I remember correctly, there is a center area that has seating and you can stay there before you have to move through the security check points where she will not be able to go

Previous poster is correct. When you enter the terminal (on departure level), there is a big lobby or seating area. (She could sit here but would not see you actually board the plane.)

The security gate to Orlando is to the right and she will not be permitted to go through there with you. After you go through security, you walk to the departure gates. You will see a little cafe and more seating area to await your boarding.

She could park in the garage and walk across, but I am sure there would be some sort of charge.
