Just curious if anyone has had individuals from the management company or repair people come into the home after they have left for the parks? This has happened to us ONCE in Highgrove and I'm a little uneasy about it this year. I am taking my two dogs (rented a pet home) and we may leave them long enough to go to the grocery store, out to eat, mini golf, things of that nature. While in DW we plan to leave them at the Disney Kennels.

Not sure if its the norm or if their allowed to just enter the home while no one is there. Last time we had no advance warning but they did leave a note on the door. Of course we had a tub that had to be fixed(was like this when we got there) but still shouldn't they have gave us some warning? I'm just not fond of the idea of someone coming in there with our stuff. My dogs will be in their little 'homes' lol if we leave for any amount of time but i'm still uneasy about it. Just curious if this is the norm or not. We are staying in Windsor Palms this year and can't wait!!

Most owners will have a clause in their terms saying that the MC needs access to the house to fix any problems whenever they need to .This ensures the problem is fixed before any major damage can occur .
Sometimes they may ring and let you know they are coming but I know as an owner most guests are hardly in so to get an answer is sometimes difficult.
If you were in an hotel and had a problem the maintenence man would fix the problem whilst you were out or the maids would enter to make the beds -its a similar thing in my mind.

That is true the MC has to be able to enter the home to fix anything that may need fixing. I know it would be nice if they could call first, but like Janny said its too hard to get a hold of people when they are on vacation.
It is the same as being in a hotel and having maintenance or the Maid service enter your room. I wouldn't worry about it though or if you are then call the Management Company when you arrive and let them know your concerns. I am sure that they will make you feel more at ease.

Thanks all, I think I will speak to the owner about it. If I just run down the street for 10-15 and don't lock up my dogs I certainly don't want someone coming in and letting them out. I'm assuming if there isn't something that needs repaired they wouldn't just come in anyways. I do know the pool person shows up but I expect that LOL. Anyways thanks for the replies I will speak to them about it to ease my mind:)

In most instances our MC would have me call or call themselves to let the guests know they would be stopping by.

I agree with you if you leave your dogs out of a cage I would not want them getting out either. I know that is how I would be with my own dogs.
The pool people will be there, but they do not go in the house or have access to go in the homes. The MC does have access, they need to have that in case of an emergency. I will say we have keyless locks on our home and the code is changed with every guest so that way there is no 2 people with the same codes to get in the house.

Just wanted to mention that in our rental agreement it states that they will be giving us 24 hrs notice if they need to enter the house..unless there is in emergency!

Honestly, if it were me, I'd put them in their crates if I left the house for anything. That's what I do if I'm in a hotel for a horse show (I've never taken them with me to Orlando). I've always been terrified that there would be a mishap or miscommunication of some sort, and somebody would let them out. Just a suggestion... :goodvibes
