Has anyone ever costed out the premium plan?

OK, I'm mathmatically challenged.

(and new here by the way).

We're planning an extended family trip to Disney right after Thanksgiving.

I've priced MYW package with the dining option- that's pretty easy to do-

but I can't seem to manipulate the numbers to give me a per person cost of upgrading to premium?

we're planning on 6 days 7 nights at AK, 2 adults 2 kids.

Can anyone please help me out?

Are you asking about the PLATINUM plan? The one step above Disney Dining? Some people call it the "Fatten 'em Plan". Way too much food. You spend more time eating than in the parks or anywhere else.

I looked into it....it was more than $100 per day per person....

I just couldn't see the value in this....especially w/ small children.

There is the basic "Disney Dining Plan"...this has the one table service meal, plus, one counter service meal, plus one snack per each night of your stay.

The "Disney Premium Dining Plan" has 3 table service meals per each night of your stay. You can use any of your table service meals in exchange for a counter service meal. Plus, all 2TS things are only 1TS meal...like the signature restaurants...and you get several free "extras" like horseback riding, all kinds of tours, Cirque du Soleil, water craft rental, parasailing, miniature golf and what not.

The "Disney Platinum Dining Plan" is 3TS meals plus one snack per night of your stay plus even more free extras!

The premium dining plan is about $110 per person per night MORE than the basic dining plan.

I hope that helps!

Thanks :) , that helps a bunch.

My problem with ddp is that we are TS kinda people for everything but lunch.

I know the premium plan includes use of the childcare facilities. After hanging out with us all day, the kids look forward to playing at Simba's Club House or the Neverland Club. at around $20 an hour for two kids, it adds up.

I'm also a big fan of signature restaurants. We usually wind up coming out of pocket for those.

I'd also be interested in doing one of those behind the scenes tours and cirque de soleil.

Dh gets a kick out of going on those powerboat thingies with DS.

It's probably still cheaper to do everything separately, but oh, the convenience;) .

Thank you!
I'm off to go price all my fun stuff to see if it's worth it.

DD and I have been slowly working on "pricing" the premium plan out for a trip in 2008. We have been planning fictional days at different parks -- where we would eat and how much it would cost at today's prices, what tour or recreation we would do that day and at what cost, etc. We don't know what category seats you get at the Cirque show, so if you know, please post.

I figure to break even, we'd have to "pay" an additional $1760 for an eight night trip. This is the difference between MYW w/DP and MYW w/PP. We based it on a value resort and 10 day hoppers with no expiration.

Don't know if we will actually do it, but planning the fantasy trip is a blast since we have no WDW trip in the near future!

Happy planning!
