Has anyone ever booked through American Express?

I always book through Disney's website, but this time we used points from American Express to book our hotel. However, I can't seem to find the resort confirmation number that will allow me to link the reservation to My Disney Experience. I have talked to people on both sides. Disney says that only American Express can get me that number, and American Express doesn't seem to have the right one.

I know it's not super important for me to link my reservations, but I am a big planner so it's a little annoying not to have our resort showing for our trip days.

Has anyone else had this problem, or figured out how to solve it? I'm a bit in the dark here!

I'm sorry I don't have any experience with booking through a third party but have read many threads by people who have. Every thread I can remember where the poster was having the same type of issue you are was resolved by finally getting the proper/correct confirmation number from who they booked with. Either from Orbitz, Travelocity, Cheap Tickets, etc.

We JUST went through this with American Express. It was such a headache. You do have to get the number from Amex. You need to call the number at the bottom of the email confirmation they sent you when you booked. They will give you the correct confirmation number so that you can link your resort on MDE. It took approximately 5 very frustrating calls to get this information. Just make sure you tell them they need to give you the TWELVE DIGIT confirmation #. Good luck!

It is a headache! The first time I called Amex, they gave me some code that was mostly letters that the CM had no idea what to do with. I'm glad you finally got yours sorted out. I'm hoping one more call will do the trip. Thanks so much for the tips!

Did you get the number you were looking for? I JUST booked using them and when I saw their " trip ID #" I knew I was going to have an issue trying to link it to MDE. I'll call Amex tomorrow and ask for the 12 digit confirmation number like pp said, but thought I'd ask you if it all worked out for you. I'm at 90 days so when that 60 mark hits I'll want that puppy linked! Haha

So...you can book the rooms through AMEX at Disney Resorts and then the tickets through Disney?
