We're traveling with friends who would like to book a fishing excursion/charter at one of the western ports. Has anybody ever done this? Who did you use and were you happy?

Thanks!

I have not, and was planning to use the Castaway Cay. Unfortunately, that excursion is not on the site at the moment.

While doing research, I did come across this alternative, out of key west.

It is a 1/2 say fishing right in the middle of the hours we should be in port.

I cannot vouch in any way for them, but am seriously considering using them if CC does not come back from their "vendor problem".

I like to fish wherever I go, and will be salmon fishing in two weeks off british columbia.

This place seems like the typical head boat, but hey a bad day fishing beats a good day working....

Let me know what you think.

Good morning Jim.

was planning to use the Castaway Cay. Unfortunately, that excursion is not on the site at the moment.

"Buckaroo" loves to fish and I had decided on this cruise to treat him to the Castaway Cay Bottom Fishing tour. The CM I spoke with advised me of Disney's "vendor problem." They suggested I keep calling back every so often in the hopes that everything will soon be rectified with the vendor involved. Humm - "every so often." For a Diser, "every so often" could = hourly updates...

I told my son that we could go fishing in Cozumel, possibly at Carlos 'N Charley's. "Buckaroo" looked at me and said, "Daddy, is that a South Park-type joke?" I/we (well, more "I" than "we")don't really watch tv so how in heaven's name did he ever learn about SOUTH PARK???...

I'm not the fisherman/woman....we're traveling with friends who want to fish. Last year, the DH of their family did the CC fishing trip and thought it was the best thing he'd ever done! And this is a guy who fishes regularly, like weekly. He is so disappointed not to be able to do it this time, it was the cruise highlight for him.

What is the "vendor problem"? I thought these guys at CC all worked for Disney.

Thanks for the Key West idea JGALECPA....when are you going?

Good Morning BD,

Buckaroo seems like he's a lucky boy, not only for having a Dd who will take him fishing but for having one who doesn't go ballistic for watching/hearing about South Park.

I assumed the CC Charter boats were just contractors, and very soon Dis can fix this either with another contractor or something.

We have to have someplace to fish, and a DIS sponsored excursion would be most comfortable.

Probably the more people who call DIS about this the better.

Remember:The squeaky mouse gets run over by the wheel!

Sonya,

We are going Xmas week on the Magic. I would have loved to go fishing on Cataway Cay, and still will if available.

I am fortunate enough to have a Brother in law in Melbourne FL whom we are staying with after the cruise. He is hiring a guide and we are fishing the waters around Port canaveral, so we are gauranteed some fishing.
