Has anyone ever been "relieved" of any cash?

I was at the mall not to long ago and someone very kindly "relieved" me of the burden I had been carrying from the bank. I know I shouldn't have had that much cash but I was in a rush and I am usually much more careful but I was in a small suburban mall and in a rush. I just really hope that whoever found it necessary to "relieve" me of my 1000 dollar burdan REALLY needed that money and not for a shopping spree at the Gap Well it could have been worse at least I wasn't mugged for it

awwww sorry, that is so annoying but as you say at least you werent physically hurt by it.

I believe 'relieved' means it was stolen


So I guess having teenagers that continuously relieve me doesnt count

It seems I was "pickpocketed" while trying to buy shoes and handle a work crisis on the phone I just got the word today that it was on tape. The bad news is they have no idea who it is. Maybe he needed to feed hungry kids or get much needed medicine (the prescription kind I mean)

gemmie....I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I too have been relieved of $$$ (in a mall parking lot). Unfortunately, it was in my purse that was still attached to my shoulder at the time.

Wow, that's a lot of money to be relieved of, so sorry that happened to you!

Yes, I was "relieved" of some cash myself once, but not nearly as much as you were. It was on my wedding day, and I'd left my purse in the changing room. I had $65 in it and when I retrieved it after the wedding was over, it was gone.

My DD was married in the same church 25 years later and I remember telling the girls over and over, in the changing room, "don't leave your purses in here" while we're upstairs!!!
The chapel is on a college campus, very easily accessible for the students.
