Okay, so I'm remarrying my ex-husband (long story, let's just say he got saved and changed his whole life. :goodvibes ) this summer. We have a trip planned to Disney in December. Soo, due to the circumstances we are thinking about having a very small ceremony either at a wedding chapel or justice of the peace (but I'd much rather have a reverend) and then doing the intimate vow renewal and honeymoon at Disney. My question is will it feel weird to have 2 "dates" for our wedding? All the great pictures and memories will be from our vow renewal and not our actual "wedding." Not that our wedding won't be special, but you know what I mean. Has anyone else done anything like this or have any advice?

But it would be great to say, "I'm getting married at Disney!"
:teeth: princess: :teeth:

I am doing the same thing kinda. Due to time constraints with the military I got married here in Turkey and I am going to be having a real ceremony at the shades of green. It is a little different but it is kinda fun. I keep joking with my husband that he is going to have two anniversarys to do. good luck

Hi Sherry...I don't think what you are doing is as "weird" as you might think!

DH and I did the "legal" part of our wedding on September 16. My family came down to our house and we did the quickie JOP thing, went to dinner, and spent the first couple of hours of our married life in the Bass Pro Shops (you have to know us to know how ODD that was! ;) )

Anyway, we had already planned our Disney wedding for September 20...so three days after our legal ceremony we were on a plane headed for Orlando.

My mom asked what date we were going to celebrate and I told her "ALL of them!" :teeth:

Good luck with your plans...let us know how they go!!!

Thanks for all the advice. I guess we could have two anniversaries. Second marriage = 2 anniversaries? Why not? :lmao: Who wouldn't like an extra day to celebrate. :teeth:

We did the same thing that Kim did. The military does not recognize "fiances" so Dwayne & I married in Feb 2006 at a courthouse ceremony while visiting Disney. Our formal wedding is May 22nd, 2006. We have rings from the 1st ceremony (simple white gold bands) & we have formal wedding bands (bling bling) for our formal wedding. We will celebrate both dates as an anniversary. Two rings, two dates to celebrate, good things come in pairs?
