Reasearching first trip to DL. Are the hotel tours guided or self-guided with brochure of GCH and DL Hotel? Is it worth the time?

I have to say this is the first time I heard of a hotel tour. Where did you find out about that?

I don't know about taking a tour, but DLH and CGH are worth taking a walk through. The DLH has a neat collage board up with all kinds of Disney toys and items from years past. It isn't far from Steakhouse 55. There are also old pics of DL to look at. The lobby of the CGH is very nice and something to see. You can even look for the hidden mickey on the grandfather clock there. Also, my favorite quick eats place is here- Whitewater Snacks, near the pool area. :)

It has been a while since I have taken the GCH tour, but I really thought it was worth my time. It is a guided tour with a cast member. It was very informative and give interesting facts about the hotel.

There is a power walk offered to GCH guests only. They have it several times during the week at 7:30am.The walk takes about 30 to 45 minutes and is usually held in California Adventures before the park opens. I have been on this walk more than a few times and really enjoy it. The pace isn't too fast and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

I have only heard of tours at the GCH. When you get to your room, they have a program of activities. I bet you could also ask at the front desk.
We did not do it, but maybe this trip I am thinking about being a little more laid back. We will see . . . :)
