I was thinking of trying this out as DH and I rent DVD's constantly, but wanted to get some input first. How exactly does this work? Do you have to return the DVD's through regular mail and pay for the postage? What do they charge a month?

Thanks and any help would be appreciated! :)

Yes, I hav done Netflix, I like it. I think I pay around $24 a month, you can have up to 3 DVDs out at a time. Basically, when you join, you go to their website and create your "que" (the list of DVD's that you want to see). You can add/ remove/ change the order of your que whenever you want, very easily. After you join, you will get the first three DVD's in the mail. When you are done with a DVD, you tear off the front of the envelope, and it becomes the envelope you return the movie in. It's super easy, throw the DVD back in there and drop in the mail, no postage required. When you return a DVD, you get the next one on your list sent automatically. Really, really easy to do, it usually takes 3-5 days from the time I mail one until I get the new one.

I also like it because it has a lot of TV shows that I like on DVD, and I can just start at the first episode and watch the entire series, one disc at a time!

Hope that helps!

I liked it, it was a good system, but we had to stop for two reasons.

1. I live in an apartment building from 1927. Our mailboxes are the size of a milk quart, if that. The DVD didn't fit, although Mr. Mailman destroyed a couple trying to put them in. Also, if he left them on the mail table, they were out in the open and subject to theft (although that never happened).

2. The turn-around time was quite long for us, so if I watched all 3 in one weekend, I often didn't have my next 3 by the following weekend. I've heard they've improved distribution time since then, though.

We had the blockbuster pass last year and that worked well until my son stopped actually returning the dvds. Teens! Oy!

Try it out, see if you like it. It could be fun.

I tried it as a trial about 6 months ago. We cancelled it because they didn't seem to have the new releases available like Blockbuster. That could have changed since then.

Thanks for the replies on this! I think I might try it since we don't live anywhere near a Blockbuster or movie rental place. We have a local movie rental place here, but they only have ONE each of every movie, so trying to rent a new one is basically impossible!! LOL

Thanks again, I appreciate it! :)
