Has anyone done a split stay but had one day overlap?

I’m thinking of doing a split stay for my upcoming trip. I have one hotel booked for the whole time right now but keep looking at what’s available. I normally liked split stays before having a baby, but it’s a lot tougher now. She has so much stuff that giving it to a bell hop to hold just isn’t practical so we’d have to leave everything in the car on the switch day. But we are also going to a park that day and have a lot going on in the morning. Would it be possible to keep my original reservation one extra day so it overlaps? Will that cause any issue with my new room? I’d do online checkin with both.

It just seems easiest to have a place to keep our stuff and a place to go back and rest in the middle of the day since the new room could potentially not be ready until 3 or later.

Has anyone done this?

No I haven't and it'd be pretty hard for me to pay for 2 resorts for the same night. I really wouldn't do a split stay with a baby...just too much.

I've heard that the magic bands can only be linked to one room at a time. So you may have to get a physical card key from the lobby.

I have but it was 2018. I had bwi and a bwv 2 bedroom overlap. Dh and Ds asked to come last minute and that’s all I could get. I needed the 2 bedroom but had the resort room that overlapped. We all took showers and a nap because it was in the 90’s . Then around 4 we got our bwv room ready text. We were clean , fresh, rested. We dropped of bags and went to Epcot. It helped for sure. Kids were 19 and 21 but they love having private space vs a lounge or lobby.
