I was just wondering if anyone has done a disneymoon?? Does anyone have any tips. My gf and I aren't even engaged yet, but we already know where we want to go on a honeymoon, DISNEY WORLD!! I am already thinking of renting DVC points (can't beat $10 a point!). I was wondering if anyone knew of ways to keep cost down at the park. Thanks.

Did you know there is a Disney Weddings & Honeymoons board here? Check it out!!

Yes, but it was Disneyland in Paris. To me Florida wouldn't seem like much of a honeymoon but I've been averaging 3-4 trips a year to WDW over the last couple of years. I'm already planning a second homeymoon to Tokyo.

While riding the monorail on a 1988 trip, we saw the GF under construction. We both said, what a neat place, we gotta stay there next time. So we booked a trip for March 1989. Unbeknowst to us at the time, we wound up getting married in March ’89 and that trip wound up being our honeymoon. And, just by chance, the room we were booked into was a honeymoon suite!

We had our honeymoon this past September in Disneyworld and it was fabulous. We stayed at the Poly for 5 nights and the BC for 5 nights. I highly recommend an illuminations cruise (very romantic), and making PS's at some of those restuarants you always wanted to try but haven't. We also made it known that we were on our honeymoon. It was noted on our reservation at the hotels and we also mentioned it for our PS's. At the BC we received a nice upgraded room, and at Artist point we got a free desert.

It should go without saying that you are not guaranteed to get any upgrades or freebies just cause you're on your honeymoon, but it doesn't hurt to make it known that you are celebrating. :)

All in all.. it was a great experience and I would recommend it to any couple.

We got married in May 2004. We got engaged in Disney in 2002 and thought it would be so wonderful to get back there for our honeymoon. DH however, was hoping for a slightly different vacation. Soooo, we went to an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean for 8 days where we slept, sunbathed, slept, swam, slept, snorkeled, slept..well you get there idea. Then we flew into Orlando for 6 more days. This was so great b/c we were refreshed and relaxed from the first half of our honeymoon and we could dive right into Disney. Since we did choose a 14 day trip between an island and Disney, we just couldnt afford a deluxe resort so we chose our favorite moderate, Coronado Springs. We had a blast. A disney honeymoon is so magical!!!
To save money we used our Disney Visa for all of our large purchases before the wedding, from wedding supplies, and house stuff to my laser eye surgery, we put everything on there and paid it right off. This helped us accumulate over $300 in reward dollars that we used to pay a portion of the room. We also booked our airfares online and got great rates to save a few bucks. Family and friends gave us disney dollars for birthdays and holidays (even got some at my bridal shower) and we had a few hundred disney dollars to use for food, souvenirs and other stuff.
The DVC points thing sounds like a good idea too!
Best of luck!

My DH & I went to Port Orleans Riverside, back then it was Dixie landings, hence my name!! :teeth:
We enjoyed the large resort & the lush greenery. At night it was very romantic walking around the resort! We kept the costs down by not staying in a Deluxe! We were in WDW for 12 nights!! We didn't do a lot of sit-down dinners, only three! It was my DH's first time there so we had no time for sit-downs! We just ran around & did the parks!

I'd suggest getting counter service for a late lunch, then get dressed up & do just apps or just dessert at sit-downs. We did that at Artist's point & the Calif. Grill & they were just as great to us as if we were having dinner!

If you go to lunch or dinner at PRIME TIME CAFE, tell them you were just married!! WE DID & I won't give it away, but it was one of te highlights of our trip!!!!! :rotfl2:

LOL!!!!

Good luck to you both!

Hi there! We did our honeymoon in WDW. Wouldn't do it anywhere else! :) It was great! Tell EVERYONE you're on your honeymoon! :) You'll get special treatment everywhere! :)

Twice. Once in the MK, waiting on the monorail, the other time was getting out of the pool at ASMo. First time was intentional, second one was kind of an accident.

We got married in Disney World & Honeymooned there. It was fantasic. Our wedding was "small" in comparison to what we would have had if we had stayed in NY, but it was perfect for us. We had 60 guests.

The honeymoon was great. We wore the Disney Bride & Groom hats almost everyday. The CMs were wonderful to us. They were even better when we told them we had gotten married at the Wedding Pavilion.

It is a great place to honeymoon!

We got married last May on the Poly beach and disneymooned at CBR. We loved it and now I have a great excuse to go back every May and celebrate our anniversary! You will love it.
If you want anyone to know, buy the wedding ears, otherwise nobody will know. We choose not to, but we didn't want all of the attention, or to wear the ears all day!
Enjoy!

I believe they have bride and groom Mickey hats you can wear which lets everyone know you're just married.

Jiko is a wonderfully romantic place to eat

We Disneymooned way back in 1975 at the Poly! :love2:
We will be going back this Dec. for our 30th wedding anniversary! :lovestruc

We got engaged in MK in 2000. Honeymooned at Poly in May 2003. 1st anniversary in May 2004 at POR. 2nd anniversary at POR in May 2005. Can not wait. I have a great DH. We love WDW.

We did five days at POR riverside before the three day cruise.... loved it all. I must say I enjoyed being at the happiest place on earth right after the best day ever!
