Has anyone celebrated a bday at 1900 park fare

When we go to Disney, my dd5's birthday will be the day before we leave and my dd7's bday will be the day we are coming home. So we are going to book 1900 park fare with cinderella for the night we arrive for their birthday dinner,(I can only imagine them that night, I can't wait) I'm going to buy them all cinderella dresses and crowns. Has anyone done this for a birthday? If so what was it like, do they do anything extra for the birthday girl or boy? Thanks

you get given a place mat to take home and a crown, you can call and order a b'cake. They will make sure that Cinderella knows that you have a b'day. We have done a wedding dinner, b'day, wedding anniversey and christening all at park fair and they where all fantastic.

why are you going to wait too book the dinner for the night you arrive?? You can book it up to 160?180? something like that days in advance, you don't want to wait too book that kinda thing, call way before you go!!!

We have been there twice for Bdays. The first one was my DH bday, I told them when we got there it was his birthday, they brought him out a crown when we got there and a cupcake at the end and sang to him. Nothing really special.
The second time we went was my sons 4th birthday, I picked there because I figure they were talking characters and maybe it would be better interaction. Well I was wrong.
I called ahead and order a Birthday Cake and made reservations for the day of his Birthday.
I was told he would get a crown and a place mat. When we checked in I reminded them it was his birthday, still no place mat or crown was at our table. I reminded them again after we sat and after we got our food. The waitress finally went and got everything. I thought the characters would make a fuss and wish him a Happy Birthday, but NOPE, the only one who said anything was Price Charming and all he said was Happy Birthday.
We asked for the cake twice before we got it and then asked if Cinderella could come to our table and sing Happy Birthday with us. The waitress did try to get Cinderella to come to the table, but she said NO! She said she was already at our table and it was time for her break. In the meantime she is still making rounds to the other tables, the waitress asks her again and she says no again, then the waitress gets the manager and asks him to tell Cinderella to come and see us. The manager response was, "she visited them already". I go up to him and explain why I chose that resturant to eat at and how disappointed I was and would never eat there again{We use to eat there every trip}. His comment was, "I am sorry but it is her breaktime and she seen you already". Now remember as this is all going on she is still visiting the table across from us. She goes on her break after all the commotion is over. And the waitress is still holding the cake. I tell her just to give me the cake and we will sing to him ourselves. Thankfully my son never knew what was going on.
The waitress try to explain to us that it was a new Cinderella they had, but that is no excuse, all characters should be Polite no matter if they are new to the area or not.
I will never forget that day, and I hate that his birhtday ended like that. He will never know, but I will never forget all the planning and making sure it was a special day to have that happen to us.
I learned you can only be the one to make the day special, we had a great time in MK we planned a scavager hunt for him and he loved it, we had his picture all over the park with balloons as he was looking for clues. At least the day didn't end sad for him, because he doesn't know anything about what Cinderella did or what any of the charatcers should have done, would it been so hard for them to wish him a Happy Birthday and make a little fuss over him.
There was another Birthday going on too, and I didn't see anything special for them either.

Don't expect a lot and accept what is given to you and you want be disappointed.

I'm sorry to hear antree's story, and I'm sorry you were dissappointed.

We did not have that experience. We went there for dd's 6th b'day. It was great. We went with my best friend and her family. (Our oldest girls are 3 weeks apart in age, and our youngest ones are 6 weeks apart. Very convienient.) All of our girls wore princess dresses and received lots of attention. We booked toward the end of the evening and took our time. Since the tables were emptying out at the end of the evening, the characters made their rounds faster. All of the girls still talk about that dinner. My dd received a special placemat and a crown. It was expensive, but a great time.

We had a great experience for my daughter's 8th birthday. The table was set with the special placemat and confetti. She received the tiarra and everyone made a big fuss. Prince Charming gave her a birthday kiss and at the end of the meal Cinderella brought out a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday. Most of the people around us joined in. My daughter definitely felt special. My youngest daughter was dressed up like Cinderella. I think the CMs did a wonderful job of making her feel special too without taking away from Big Sister's Birthday.
I knew this was a very special pixie dust moment but our CM waitress told me later that she had worked there many years and it was very rare to be able to time it where Cinderella could bring out the cake. This is probably is what happened with the other poster... just bad timing.
Also, I had "planned" for our meal at LTT to be the special birthday meal. It was nice but not special. My DD was barely told Happy Birthday. We went to 1900 Park Fare with ZERO expectations for any special service. I am now a true believer in Pixie Dust happens when you least expect it and never when you demand it.
To the OP... I hope your family receives a Magical Dining Experience too!

We celebrated dd's first birthday there. We didn't order a cake because I knew we couldn't eat even half of it. Just as we were ready to leave the waiter did bring out a cupcake and gave her a crown. That was it, I didn't know you could get a place mat. None of the characters even knew it was her birthday. That's o.k. though. She didn't know what was going on anyway. LOl

We too had a fabulous experience when we celebrated DD 2nd birthday there. She got the placemat with all the signatures on it, there were balloons and confetti at the table and they gave her a crown to wear. She got a lot of special attention and really ate it up. That one evening imbued in her a love of Cinderella that I don't think she'll ever lose. Even though she has many (much nicer) crowns as part of her dress-up clothes that is her favorite and she still talks about it today. It was a glorious evening and nobody turned into a pumpkin at midnight.

We celebrated DD bday on our first night there. She got the happy birthday tiara and wore it all week. I had also ordered the white chocolate cinderella slipper plate (with chocolate mousse and rasperry design) it was beautiful and impressive as well as the cupcake they brought out. She was just beside herself. All of the characters came by more than once. We loved it! Food was wonderful too!!

My oldest dd is lucky to have her birthday fall on our "March Break" (school break) and since I am out of school that week too, we visit Florida. So for her 4th birthday she was there for dinner on her actual birthday. I did order a cake. It was a beautiful cake, done up in pink icing and a lovely Cinderella topper. There was a placemat and a crown at her place. They did bring the cake early in the dinner as our waitress wanted to bring it just as Cinderella arrived at our table, which was nice of her. So Cinderella was there to sing HB with all of us. Julia was absolutely glowing. Prince Charming and the mice all made a fuss about it to an extent. Just enough to make her feel special.

On her 5th birthday last year, all she wanted to do was meet Mary Poppins. So we did the breakfast at the 1900 Park Faire with MP, Winnie, Tigger, The Mad Hatter, and Alice. Again she had a placemat and a crown that Winnie put on her. Winnie brought out her cupcake too and helped "sing" (wave his arms) as HB was sung. I have to say that Alice was amazing. I really had no expectations of her, as it was never a story I really enjoyed as a child, but the girls were enthralled with her. She spent a lot of time with both of my daughters. My youngest, who was 2 1/2 yrs at that time, was afraid of Tigger and Pooh, but just loved Alice (the face character). We booked a later breakfast, so the place wasn't packed and the characters interacted a lot with us.

This year we will be there for her 6th birthday and she has requested Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Lucky girl spending every birthday at WDW. I just know the day will come when the youngest will figure out she is being jipped on July 29th and will expect a summer visit for this reason ... poor DH would die of heat stroke though He couldn't handle that!

Anyways, I am sure it will turn out nice. It isn't a huge elaborate thing, but just enough for your child to feel special. So many people book birthdays when it isn't even near a birthday, so I am sure they've cut back somewhat.

We celebrated DD's 3rd birthday at 1900 Park Fare last September. She was dressed in her Cinderella gown and our ADR was for 6pm.

We didn't order a cake ahead of time, but decided to when we arrived. The hostess asked us about getting a cake so she knew it was DD's birthday. When we got to the table, no placemat , crown , nothing! I said something again to the hostess, she comes back, hands it to me and says, oh here it is. DH looks at me and we just thought, oh no this isn't starting out well.

Our waiter was great though and made a big deal of DD"s birthday, plus he also planned the cake arrival with Cinderella's arrival. She sang Happy Birthday to DD, plus helped her blow out her candle. DD was so excited, she just sat there and stared at Cinderella. The lady at the next table asked if she could take a picture of DD with Cinderella singing Happy Birthday, because she never seen anything like it before and it was so cute.

There were at least 5 times during our meal I heard the Happy Birthday song and my DD was the only one Cinderella was there to sing to. I also believe its timing and how good your waiter/waitress is.

We celebrated my DD's 4th bday there this past Sept She wore her Cinderella dress and my 6 yr old DD wore her Belle dress... they felt like they were truly princesses with the commotion the prince, Suzy, and Perla made over them

I made my ADR's about 160 days out and about 3 weeks before our trip, I ordered the "slipper" dessert

It was brought out by our waitress at the exact moment that Cinderella was coming to our table, so she sang along with the people at the tables surrounding us My DD was over-the-top elated that so much attention was being paid to HER..... our waitress gave both my DD's Happy Birthday tiaras and my bday girl got the signed placemat.... I couldn't have picked a more perfect dinner for her!

On a funny note, the next day as we went to the parks and then to dinner elsewhere, my 4 yr old wanted to know why nobody was paying attention to her anymore (She didn't have her bday button on that day... )

awesome, thanks for sharing the pics, my 3 dds will all be dressed up to, actually when we reveal the surprise, cinderella dresses will be in their gift bag also. and that dessert looks good.

I called the Grand Floridian Bakery 3 weeks out @ 407-824-2578

It was $14.00 and NOT included as part of the dining plan-it was extra and charged to my credit card. (the dining plan includes only the regular desserts offered at the restaurants-not specialty desserts)...

I do have to say though that it was well worth the $14-it tasted delicious (I got to eat most of it seeing as how my DD's were too excited about the atmosphere to do much with it!!! I couldn't possibly waste $14! LOL! )
