Has anyone brought their own pillow?

I'm flying from Canada to Anaheim next weekend, and I'm thinking about taking my pillow from home. It has taken me a few years to find a pillow that agrees with me and doesn't bother my neck. I'd like to take it with me, but I'm wondering if that's something that has been done. Would it be weird? If you have taken your pillow, how did you take it? Did you carry it on the plane? Did you also have a carry-on bag of some sort? I'd like to take my pillow and a backpack with electronics and essentials.

I haven't done that myself, but it did pop into my head to say that if you do, bring a non white pillowcase so no one will mistake it for a WDW pillow. I can't see why Mousekeeping would remove a pillow, but better safe than sorry! Good luck sleeping whatever you decide. :)

My husband and I always take our pillows. If driving just carry it, if flying pack it. And I always have a pattern or colored pillow case so it doesn't get lost or I forget. Vacation is not as much fun when you don't sleep well - and no matter how bad a bed it is if I have my pillow it's not as bad!

We like to bring our own pillows as well. A bright pillowcase is essential--to keep staff from mistaking it but also to remind us not to forget them when we leave. I personally like to keep it in my carry on bag when flying, then I have it available anytime I need it.

We take our pillows too. Like others have suggested, use a unique pillowcase and sleep in total comfort!

I only know about this because...well...I know. ;)

You are welcome to bring your own pillow.

I, personally, travel with my own blanket. I find down (or imitation down) comforters way to heavy and a sheet not enough. The idea of a bedspread or a hotel throw skeeves me out.

When we relocate from Hollywood to Disneyland, ABD will move all of our luggage while we do amazing stuff.

You are welcome to bring anything you like on the bus, but we will be on and off the bus all day.

The good news is that the driver stays with the bus the entire time. People have left photography equipment, computers, iPads, ...well, you get the idea...on the bus without incident.

Either way...please feel free to bring your pillow so that I have someone to point to when John makes jokes about my blanket.;):rotfl:

When going to WDW, I have my own down pillow in my Owner's Locker...when traveling anywhere else, I pack a travel size down pillow in my check through bag. I just sleep so much better with my own pillows, that it's worth the extra work to pack my own...and, yes, they have different colored pillow cases! :)

I always cary mine on the plane as my personal item and use it for a nap while flying. I set phone reminders for check out day to make sure I did not forget it.

Great advice, everyone. Thanks for replying. I'll carry my pillow with pride. But based on some of the advice, I now feel challenged to find a truly unique pillowcase. Challenge accepted.

Never bring a black light and scan the bed...... NEVER! Even the nicest hotels bedspread will scare you. DW and I throw that thing in a corner as soon as we get in. :thumbsup2

I bring my own pillow, a small blanket that I use near my upper body and face and I am one of those who need the feel and sound of a small fan. I pack these together in a small duffle.

Batgirl...do you take all of that on the plane? Is the duffle the only carryon you take? I'm wondering if I can take a pillow and a carryon. I'm going to contact the airline, but I'm wondering what other people do. Oh, and awesome about the fan. I've never thought of that, but I do keep my bedroom window open a crack. Can't sleep in a stuffy room.

Yes, when I fly, that is my only carryon. I usually have room for my camera and wallet too but that is about it.

I always travel with my pillow. I have never had a problem with any airline. I usually travel with my carry on, a personal item and my pillow. I use it when I fly so I never have to store it. No one has ever said anything to me but if they did I can strap it to my carry on or throw my personal item (a small cross body bag) into the pillow case.

Tip- When flying I put an extra pillowcase on to protect it from airport germs. I keep it on while my pillow goes through security (a lot of stuff goes into those bins) and in the airport. The protector case gets taken off before the pillow hits my face.

Yes- I realize I am super high maintenence

I always pack my very small pillow that I use on top of my regular pillow. It is only 11 inches square. I put it in my carry-on in the plane, and also use it on the plane. It is just enough to fit my face when it on top of another pillow.
I made a mint green covering for it, in a fabric similar to velour. It is closed on 3 sides. You can buy this basic pillow form at most craft stores. It becomes my piece of home away from home.
