Has anyone brought their AG doll on the plane?

DD has brought hers on the plane and there has never been an issue. :)

DD just brought hers on the plane last month. DD carried the doll because it wouldn't fit in her backpack. When we got on the plane, we put the doll in a plastic bag and put it in the overhead compartment. No problems whatsoever.

Is there any specific reason you think there might be a problem with the doll?

after all, they ARE members of the family. At least in our house. WE have actually had waitresses sing to our dolls for birthdays out in restaurants (my daughter is an only child and she's very charming. It's amazing to see how far adults go to make her happy...but she's not even spoiled:) well, maybe a little;) )

Anyhow...

we have taken Bitty Baby on planes before and also "big dolls" (full size AG). We have never had a problem. The airlines we have flown are Southwest, American, USAirways and JetBlue. No problems...

Call you airport if you think there my be an issue.

I am curious to know as well... is the size of the doll the issue? Or is it something about the AG dolls in general? DD will definatly want to take Bitty Baby with us.... and I think she is about the same size as the AG isn't she?

I didn't know there were sizes to the AG dolls...aside from the baby and older looking ones, but still they seem pretty uniform. Without whipping out a tape measure, I think DD's AG doll is about 18"-24".

DD6 always takes her doll and her favorite animal too.
Around here they are members of the family after all. DD and her doll even sleep in matching pjs - it's too cute.
We've never had a problem on a plane or with airport security - Thankfully our dolls are very well behaved even if their small owner isn't always...:lmao:

On the few occassions that they've been left in the room, Mousekeeping always had them doing something when we came back - snacking on a bag of chips and watching TV with remote in hand, playing cards, even looking out the window once waiting to see us coming from the pool!

Last year at WDW, she saw a girl with her family checking in who had a Jess doll too and the outfit to match for doll & girl. When we got home we ordered Jess' meet outfit in DD6's size. I had to ask a friend to add a peice of elastic and a button to make the waist smaller but it's perfect now.
That orange halter and pretty lightweight skirt are just perfect for Disney! She can't wait to wear it now that the weather is warming up...

We just brought them with us on the plane to WDW. They sat in the seat with my DD's, We never had a problem and no one ever said anything to us about it. We have flown Jetblue and Southwest.
We allowed them to bring their dolls, but kept them in the room while we were in the parks. My mother made matching outfits for the dolls and my daughters for each day of our trip. She even went as far as to make MIckey ears. It was really something. No one had to guess where we were going. Mousekeeping also posed them in the window on the beds and on the table. It was cute.

I still remember as a child... ummm 25 years ago:headache: .. I was moving to Greece and had my doll with me. They made me part with her and put her through the xray. I was devastated and it only lasted a whole 2 minutes:lmao:

Oh, it won't be a problem. BUT, I do have a funny story related to this. I had an AG doll when I was eight. My mom took me on a trip to the store in Chicago for Christmas (our big presents were always an experience, not a thing). I put my doll in my backpack and put it in the scanner at security (loooong before 9/11). One of two women at the security booth saw the doll in the x-ray and yelled, "OH MY GOD, THERE ARE BODIES IN HERE!"

Well, the second woman freaked out. She screamed, she rushed to grab the bag and confinscate it, (I was crying at this point) and the first woman started to crack up. She had ment it as a joke. It didn't seem funny when I thought they were going to take my Kit away, but it is now one of my favorite travel stories.
