Has anyone booked Moonlight Magic while staying on another members points?

We are DVC members (since 2013 so with perks) and we are staying for a week in September on a friends points (also a DVC member with all perks since 2009). The room is under my name but her points. We want to definitely sign up for MM when it goes live but were wondering how exactly to do this and if there will be any problem on the date. Does the link email go to her or to me since the reservation is in my name? Can it be done through her DVC member website when she logs in? For those who have gone, what is the registration process and is anyone in the same boat as me? I am worried since its not my own points.
 
When you register for MM, the website asks you to list the name of the person who will be checking-in for the event if it's someone other than the member.

I'd recommend asking your friend to register and list you as the person attending. (Actually, if you have the member's name and DVC ID number, you could probably complete the registration yourself.)
 
Yes. First DVC CM said no. I had to call back. 30 plus minute waits each call.

OK so are you saying that you did just this? Like you are a member staying on another members points? So when the window opened, you never received an email? Did the member who you book thorough receive one? Did you call in at 9am and they told you that you cant register even though you are a member staying on points?

WHen you say the "website asks", is this your experience through an email that was sent to you or buy just logging in to the DVC member site under your name?
 
I am also wondering for anyone- will there be a link available on the member site to sign up or is it a separate LINK through the email? I would love to know if it cam be done through the member site or is it JUST through email.

A registration link will be posted to DVC website post for the applicable Moonlight Magic event. It's a generic link, not unique to any single user. When you go to the registration page, I believe it initially authenticates via the reservation ID number and the last name of the guest. If entries match what is in Disney's database, the next page asks for the member's DVC ID and other demographic information.

I didn’t ask the member. I called and said I had a reservation and I’m a member but the reservation isn’t on my account.

First CM said no dice.

I called back and immediately asked to speak to a supervisor. Front line CM asked why. I explained. She said no need for a supervisor, she could do that for me. Booked me.

It was just a long wait for both calls because everyone else was calling about the same thing.

This is exactly what I was wondering and hoping for. I wanted to know if the link is a generic link, not reservation specific...I will be sure to look on the website beginning art 9am on that day- thankyou SO MUCH

Amazing. This is so good to know; because at least if the link does not become available, I can call and have them help me. I will ask to speak to a manager if the front CM has trouble since the wait seemed outrageous to have to call again. I just hope I have an hour between 9 and 10 am to get the day im looking for before it sells out! Thanks for sharing your experience with me!
